My rating is solely based on the fact that I work in customer service, even though no longer in the food service and know that transparency and communication is necessary to ensure a good time for everyone involved. I was not satisfied with the end encounter prior to leaving because it's unprofessional to state the reason behind why I was charged what I was was due to business being slow. That has nothing to do with me and to verbally tell a patron that as a why without having been forthcoming and transparent in the beginning made it worse.
I ordered the fajita burrito, which came with rice and beans, and The Grandeza Margarita to drink. All were top notch, 5 stars and would highly recommend for authentic Mexican food. Craving authentic Mexican food is the main reason I went. Unaware of menu price change until I browsing the online menu when planning to order to go for my mother, I realized I technically was there within the lunch time for my meal to be at that price. I was excited at the thought of a little price reduction. Knowing that when I ordered my mother's it would be at the dinner price.
My to go order was given to me with the check, though she held it out for me to view instead of placing on the table. I feel like it was out of courtesy for a faster checkout so I could get home while my food was still hot. Upon calculating the tip I noticed the meals were priced at the same time. The price wasn't the issue per se because I'm not sure if the quantity of food (sides of rice and beans) is a bit more because of the price or how that works. I tipped more than the receipt gives, because usually that's what I do unless I receive horrible service and low quality food.
I left everything as is check wise because food and Margarita were 10/10. Prior to leaving I asked the hostess/server about the times and pricing, in turn she replied an explanation of business had been slow and she usually charges dinner price 15 minutes prior to lunch, emphasizing full transparency. However, that only works had she been transparent from the beginning. I don't remember her name, but it was Thursday, January 9, 2025 and I dined in between the time of 1:37ish - 2:10ish in the afternoon. She did offer me a refund, but why offer to correct an issue that could've been prevented? As a patron, dining in the restaurant for the first time it does the set the precedent for how dining may go in the future.
Chances are I'll eat there again, but I'll just be mindful of the time and most likely dine...
Read moreI have been ordering Mexico Magico almost weekly for quite some time now. I have been very pleased with their food, but in recent orders the food seems to be going downhill. Today 06/09/18, I recieved my order from uber and found my order to be missing pico, guacamole, slaw, and sour cream from my Burrito Loco. And I didn't receive chips like normal, though I did get 4 salsa. I was disappointed of course because the side condiments make the burrito. I called Mexico Magico and spoke with a woman, when I politely told her there was a mistake with my order I was hung up on. I immediately called back and a man answered. I asked him for a manager to which he obliged. Another man got on the phone and identified himself as JOSE the manager. He then listened to what I had to say and informed me that they discontinued pico. He also told me to call uber because the missing guacamole, sour cream, slaw, and chips were not his responsibility and kept telling me to call uber over and over. JOSE then put me on hold and returned to tell me that his cook told him the sour cream, guacamole, and chips went out and the order was correct when it left. (Which would mean my uber driver would have to have stolen my items I guess?) JOSE had no emotions, and really didnt seem to care, there was no apologies, no attempt to make things right in any way. Just about everyone knows that a simple "I'm sorry" goes a long way. Jose really did not seem to take pride in his job and didnt even know how much they charge for sour cream ($1.75) or guacamole ($2.50). Unfortunately this one wrong (or stolen?) order mishap showed me the extremely poor customer service Mexico Magico appears to provide. I did point out to Jose that his lack of customer service skills reflected upon the business in a negative fashion to which he had nothing to say, except to contact uber and uber would talk to Mexico Magico. It was really upsetting to see how one of my favorite restaurants is run behind the...
Read moreHorrid, hated it is an understatement. I ordered lunch for the ladies in my office. Made sure when calling it in I explained no cheese on the topopo salad and no italian dressing change it to 1000 island. When i got there i checked the salad because when ringing it up she said taco salad and i said no I asked for the topopo salad so asked her to have it remade, she acted like she couldnt do that and i insisted she had them remake it and i explained to her when they remake it no cheese and change dressing to 1000 island just like the original order. When it came back of course they used italian dressing and there was cheese. She was seriously not listening and did not care about getting it right. She had to have it remade 2 x and when i paid with a $50 bill she tried to give me $7 change for a bill that was $22 bucks. I told her um no look at what i gave you, it's a $50 bill. Of course sidetracked by the issue i'm in hurry to get back to work before i'm late and i get back to my desk and the order i made for myself did not have any tortillas so now I gotta eat my Polla a la crema with chips no tortilla. Come on....can you guys at least try. Plus i think the additional charge for taking your food to go is completely rediculous. You save money on service and dish washing, table clearing etc....there's no extra cost to the business to give me my food in a togo container that gives smaller portions than i would have received dining in. Completely rediculous.....dont waste your time or your money. Not only have they lost me as a customer but everyone in my office. Way...
