I sent an email to ask some questions about their date night Fridays and I got responses pretty quickly! On Fridays, they offer a deal where you can pay $10 for two people that comes with free drinks as well as a BOGO deal on drinks and food as long as you play 2-player games. We got the ham and swiss panini, chicken bacon ranch panini, Italian soda, and Sugar Fog. I love that they let you choose up to 4 flavors for your Italian sodas so allows for fun combinations. The paninis were great for their price and flavorful! The drinks were wonderful too, we were big fans of the Sugar Fog.
The decor in the cafe is very chill and cozy. I love that on each table on the side we were at had a sticker on the edge of the table, added a cute touch. The games are organized very well and they even have a dedicated drawer for two player games. It's clear where to put your plates. They do have a bathroom with a code but there is a sign that says what the passcode is so you don't have to awkwardly ask for it. There is plenty of seating inside as well as big table spaces to play board games.
The service here is friendly and professional. Additionally, they are great at making your drinks quickly even when they get busy. They also do hold your card but there are plenty of ways to remind you to get your card back, which I appreciate as I am a very forgetful person. They also offer a stamp card and I love how cute it is. We look forward to...
Read moreWhile not my first boardgame cafe, this has been my best boardgame cafe experience. We came in on a drizzly Thursday shortly after they opened. We were immediately greeted by the staff and were sucked into a very cozy space. The menu was great. They had all the standard coffee drinks which my wife enjoys, but they also had "Fogs" which are fancy tea based drinks I had a "misty mountain" which was ginger and oolong and pistachio and vanilla and was very tasty.
The game selection was fantastic with some classics, some favorites and some games I didn't know. We decided to try Tokaido Duel which is a 2 player version of Tokaido which works so much better than the original with 2 people. The staff took the time to teach us the game and sit with us for a round or so to make sure we got it.
It only cost $7 per person to use a table for as long as they are open which includes a complimentary beverage. ( Which allowed me to try something new and tasty). Our game only took about about 45 minutes and we had to leave for other errands, but it was totally worth it, we learned a new game which we will have to buy now and found a delightful new way to enjoy tea. Definitely coming back when we get the...
Read moreIts a fun little place and I wish I could give 5 stars, the shortcomings are not necessarily their fault. The cons: It was crowded when we got there on a Monday eve. We were lucky to get a table that could fit our game. There arent that many tables and even fewer large tables. Parking was free but annoyingly tight underground garage that required a bit of a hike up to the shop. Elevators were closed when we left the plaza around 9:30 and had to walk down the driveway (we had pizza dinner next door since the game shop didnt really satisfy dinner needs). Drink selection was large but also very specific, not a lot of âbasicâ options, we only used 3/4 required drinks because there was nothing that called to us. Food selection was ok, just paninis and snacks. Paying $7 each for a fam of 4 wasnât too bad but our local shop is free, so maybe we are spoiled. Overall its a fun service they are providing but seems to be catering to a specific clientelle that enjoys both games and specialty drinks. We are glad we went but arenât eager to go back either, it just wasnt quite a good enough experience to become a...
