Okay, where do I start? This literally used to be the "best" McDonald's in Tallahassee for great tasting, hot food, fast service, and outstanding customer service, but over the last two years, since the pandemic, this place as went to the gutter!
I would like to clarify that not all of the employees at this location on Thomasville Road are classless, and unprofessional, as there is a brother, with a mustache, who is always, and I mean always 100% professional and there is a light-skin sista, who is the same, so my bludgeoning review has absolutely nothing to do with them.
But, there are two heavy-set sisters, both i am assuming are managers and trust me, when I tell ya, if these two are who this McDonald's promotes. and places out front, then this says so much about what the district manger and owner LACKS!
They literally talk down to you, treat you like you're a child, whose antics are so unbecoming of those positions. Then, they are FAKE! When their district manager was at the store for a couple of days, they were on their best behavior, basically putting on an act, with those cringe-worthy fake smiles and all. But, the very second he left, back to being callous, spiteful and unprofessional!
They are known for locking their lobby doors as early as 6:30 pm, almost daily, sometimes they wait until 7:30 pm, but trust me, it's normally closer to the 6:30 pm time frame. Then, if you just happen to squeeze in before they lock the doors, they literally make you wait for your food, even though the people in the back prepared it, almost immediately. YES! I have have food made and slid into the bin, and they 100% INTENTIONALLY allow it to sit there, get cold, when they could have easily grabbed it, bagged it, handed it to you and went on about their day!
I'm thinking they want us to feel as if they are always delayed, at best, or some type of punishment for having the unmitigated audacity to frequent their establishment!
Now, let's talk drive-thru. Don't take my word for it, just drive by in the evenings, between 7 Pm and 11 pm, you pick the day, as it doesn't matter and you will see cars stacked 5, 6, 7 or 8 deep, why? Because they are being unprofessional, PERIOD!
Keep in mind, I have seen them be on their smartphones, while cars are backed up in drive-thru, with food, literally sitting there getting cold. I guess in their minds, they believe if people see we are backed up, they would go elsewhere, which is asinine, as the purpose and the reason they have their jobs is the serve the customer. Keep in mind, I have never asked either of them to do anything less or more than their jobs! They act as if we work for THEM! Sadly, and I hate to say this, it's always People of Color!
I, an African-American man, felt compelled to help those of the lighter hue, order their food from the kiosk and/or keep them from going off and storming out!
Again, when you go there, just sit back and watch these two heavy-set sisters be so unprofessional, callous and just the worse. Twice I have seen one of these managers argue with employees, in front of us customer, saying the most hateful and downright vicious ad hominem attacks I have ever seen. I saw the other make two employees clock out and go home, yelling at them, making one of them cry. I had to go over to her and calm her down, as she was being spoken to like she was a dog!
Oh, one more thing, along with letting your food sit in the bin getting cold, when they could have handed it to you, just minutes after ordering it, intentionally backing-up drive-thru, they will turn off the McDonald's app for their store! Don't believe me, try and make an order for this store on their app after 10pm and they will literally have it turned off, where the app says, that store is closed or not available. when they don't close until midnight!
So, if you want poor customer service, cold food, contrite individuals, who act like they are angry because they are forced to work at McDonald's, then THIS McDonald's is for you! Again, not all of the employees there...

Last Thursday 8/24. I ordered a quarter pounder meal, cheeseburger happy meal and a 6 count nugget (just nuggets), I pull to the first window, the young lady had AirPods in and shoved my cc into the machine, once given back I noticed my card was cracked at the top. I drove to the 2nd window, I received 2 medium drinks…weird. And only my quarter pounder meal. I asked, “where is the cheeseburger kids meal and 6 count nugget”. The young lady said “you go your receipt”, I said no, but I can tell you the total as I pull up my bank app. She states “pull down to window over there”. I waited around 5 minutes a manager came out and ask “what did we miss”, I explained cheeseburger kids mean and 6 count nugget. She said “receipt”, I said no, never given one but have my bank app pulled up and you should be able to review all orders as it was through drive thru. She told me to hold on. After 4-5 cars came through the drive thru I waited around 15 minutes, i out my car in reverse through the drive thru back to window 2 and the young lady said “what can I do for you?” I stated I haven’t received my cheese burger kids meal or )l6 count nugget. She said hold on, and came back with a happy meal only, I looked in it to see if anything was missing, I told her it’s missing the cheeseburger. She said “k” and brought the cheeseburger to the window. I live 5 minutes from this establishment and when I get home, the quarter pounder was over cooked like microwave heated dried, the fries weren’t even cooked. They were still raw, the cheeseburger happy meal was coke and the Frieda weren’t done and the chicken nuggets were somewhat hard. I tried to call the establishment a few times and no answer.
To the owners of this establishment, please enforce a training policy for future reference for customer service and food safety. I’m not that person that would just call the health department if you can make an effort to implement some changes for the better. I understand with the economy this day and age, it’s hard to find reliable, customer friendly and experienced employees in any industry, but from my take it seems you just hired bodies to clear a number. Please have more involvement in your hiring process. For now, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere until I hear within the community...
Read moreI had to write a review of this McDonalds. Why review a McDonalds, you might ask? Aren't all McDonalds the same? Well, they are definitely supposed to be, but this one is by far the worst McDonalds in town, and the worst McDonalds experience in my life, which is saying something.
We went through the drive through Saturday night around 10, and ordered a simple order. quarter pounder value meal for my son, and big mac value meal for me. It was late, we'd traveled a ton that day, and it was time for a good ole American trashy meal to cap it off lol.
We then proceeded to wait 30 minutes in the drive through (yes, I said 30 minutes) for them to get through the 4 cars in front of us before they got to us. I can't explain why I waited, but we were tired, nothing else was open, and I figured that there were only 4 cars in front of us so how long could it possibly take.
Once they got to us, it was another 10 minute wait, and we were given our bag, which we realized after we drove off, that was completely wrong. Correct receipt taped to the bag, but not a single thing we ordered was correct, so we drove back and got back in the line, along with every other car before us, because ALL of the orders were wrong.
The lobby said it was open until 12, but the doors were locked (I'm guessing this wasn't their first rodeo when it came to pissed off customers lol). we talked amongst the other pissed off customers (who were contemplating whether they were going to waste even more of their life in that God forsaken line for a second time), to see if the staff (who ALL looked high except for the manager) just switched the bags around, but alas, that was not the case.
We waited another 5 minutes (now 45 MINUTES into a McDonalds experience) before my son and I just said screw it, we drove off, and I let my son eat the cheeseburger and 4 piece that was in our mystery bag. I WISH I would have thought to take a picture of that cheeseburger, it truly was a masterpiece.
This location is obviously under terrible ownership, and has major problems. I DO NOT blame the young lady who was the shift manager, as she was busting her butt while her entire staff was stumbling around red eyed, waiting for their shift to end. It definitely wasn't her fault. I'm sure she won't be there long, she isn't getting any help.
