I am currently a senior going into my last semester at FSU. As I attempted to walk into the Union’s food court to buy a meal as I have been accustomed to for the past 4 years, I was rudely greeted by the lady who was swiping FSU IDs in order to enter, who I obviously did not see at first. She yelled, “There is a line!”. When I asked if we needed to swipe to enter now, she yelled again “There is a line!” twice, completely ignoring the fact that I asked a question and even yelling over the those who she was helping, thus acting unprofessionally. We exchanged several words, I asked for her name which was Jan, and I asked for her supervisor. She then replied, “he’s right over there and watching you right now” in a condescending tone, but hesitated to get his attention. As she then tried to get his attention, because from my view point he actually did not see what was going on, I spoke to two extremely nice gentlemen at the information desk right beside her who informed me of the change. Dwoyne, the supervisor, walked over and exchanged words with Jan, then came to me to hear my side where I did not hesistate to mention her utter rudeness and lack of manners. He offered an apology on her behalf (because she did not give one) and explained the new dining set up. I thanked him for handling the situation more professionally than Jan, hence why he is a supervisor and she is not, and told him that they would not have to worry about me coming back. I say all this to say, it only takes one worker to ruin the business. If I were looking to buy a meal plan this day, Jan would have completely changed my mind with her lack of...
Read moreI love Seminole Dining! As a student at FSU, it has been so great to have a meal plan. I can see how some may think it is a waste of money, but that is only because they do not utilize it fully. There are so many opportunities to eat on campus and so many varieties. They literally have something for everyone and pay special attention to those with allergies, preparing their food completely separate from any possible contaminants/allergens. With a world renowned chef overseeing it all, there's no wonder that the Seminole Dining lives up to the high expectations people have. I am glad to be able to experience a meal plan while in college, and hope that others will get the same experience. Healthy choices, some unhealthy ones too, great salad and soup bar, and fresh ingredients and variety every day. If in doubt, please know it is a healthy choice. Only thing is, you can not cancel your Dining plan for any reason, so be sure that it's...
