Hotel Bar has so much potential but sadly underdelivers.
The idea of a bar that celebrates the top drinks of hotel bars around the world is great. But, there are maybe just 10 cocktails, several from unusual hotels, and they miss a countless number of great hotel drinks. I recommend they create a book of all the great hotel drinks and treat that like a global exploration. "Page 1: Europe, Page 2: SE Asia, Page 3: North America..."
The design of the bar itself is nice, but misses in the rest of the space. Sterile walls with meh lighting. Add more chandeliers, apply luxurious velvet wallpaper, and install some heavy drapes to the windows to make it feel more intimate like a bar you'd find in a 5 star hotel.
While it was later at night (around 11pm) our bartender (good looking guy who said he's from PR) was skilled but overall pretty cocky and snotty to almost all the patrons except for the two drunk girls he was flirting with that night. When folks on both sides of us ordered off menu, he seemed agitated and even rolled his eyes at a dude who asked for a Moscow Mule, claiming with sarcastic but annoyed tone "I know how to make a Moscow Mule." Not saying the bartender is bad, and he's clearly skilled, just not the warm, welcoming, and friendly personality you expect at a top tier cocktail bar. He was nice enough to us (we order from the menu) but we did not feel compelled to stay for a second round, let alone a standard third.
In the 45 minutes of our visit, we saw two couples walk in, sit down, not get service, and leave 15 mins later. That said, there was only one person serving tables, but it's a small bar and we rarely saw her. That said, we sat at the bar and dealt with the bartenders direct.
First impressions are hopeful. Overall experience is below average. The physical bar and the team working it could very easily improve and not lose money, as it seemed they are prone to do. Without these changes, Hotel Bar is just another cocktail bar with a thinly...

Read moreI will not go back to this place and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I know. This was the first time I had ever been to this bar, which was on a Saturday night. My experience with the bartender with half blonde, half black hair was very rude and uncomfortable! First off he seemed clueless when I tried to order my drinks and when I received my drinks they were mediocre!! I observed that he was liked by a few people but he definitely could care less about me ( maybe because I was by myself ). When I went to order my last drink, since the bar was about to close, it took longer then it should have because he was to busy serving his favorite people. I get having favorites but don't make it obvious to others, especially new people!! I patiently waited a while to finally order my drink and afterwards I waited and waited and waited and WAITED while he kept serving others. I even watched a new guy come to the bar and ask for drink which he served him fairly quick. I then thought maybe he forgot I ordered a drink so I nicely asked him if he was going to get my drink to then received major attitude and a comment of " I will get your drink when I can, I have to serve others ". No Apology!!! He made me feel so uncomfortable that I just wanted to get my last drink and quickly drink it to then leave! The establishment should watch there employees closer. Later I heard other bad things about this bar tender. It can only take one person to ruin an...
