MUST TRY!!! GO NOW AND YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! I have been looking for an actual good Chinese spot ever since I moved to Tampa. After going through the list on google, Liang’s overall high review and amount of reviews caught my eye. I was so surprised how many consistent 5 and 4 star reviews I saw. You never see that many consistent 4 and 5 star reviews even with the overall review being 4 or 4.5. But the reviews and photos convinced me. At first the prices were somewhat pushing me away but I’d rather pay extra for some great Chinese than pay less for some mediocre or horrible Chinese. I drove an hr after getting my haircut in this hurricane thunderstorm we had tonight because I was determined to find out if it was truly as good as people were saying. I ordered sesame chicken, fried rice, and egg rolls. I got home after another hr drive because of the rainstorm and dug in. The first bite of chicken had me convinced. I knew then and there that I finally found a great Chinese spot that would now be the only Chinese spot I ordered from. The sesame chicken was still hot and man was it so crunchy and flavorful. Usually the sesame chicken I get from Chinese places around here are soggy but not this one and boy did they give you a ton of food. It cost me $34 total and I could feed a family of 5 or more with the amount of food they gave me and I’m a heavy set guy weighing in at 240lbs. The fried rice was the best I’ve had since moving here. It is the 2nd best fried rice I’ve had in my life with Tsukasa’s in Vernon Hills IL beating it. And I was extremely happy when I bit into the egg rolls because I have been looking for these exact type of egg rolls ever since trying the ones in NY which were the best egg rolls I’ve ever had. When I bit into this egg roll it was like biting into the egg rolls I used to eat in NY! I was so happy!!! I know this is extremely long but I have tried every Chinese place around here looking for one that was actually good and that reminded me of the NY Chinese food I used to eat. I’d truly pay $50 for the food I ordered tonight that cost me $34. Yes it was that good!! I know I am coming off very passionate about their food but you don’t know how good it feels to eat actual great Chinese food after trying so many horrible spots. Truthfully before I tried this spot, Panda Express was the best Chinese spot out of all the ones I’ve tried around here and that is saying something. I am so thankful that I found this spot. Liangs keep doing what you’re doing. Don’t change a thing! Thanks for the amazing service. Next time I pick up a to go order I’m leaving a...
Read moreGreat experience. Had the door held open for me (either by the owner or a higher up manager as I had overheard him having a conversation with another table) Son was our server and he was professional and well groomed, as were all the servers I observed. They were all pretty cute too! He answered my questions and was patient and knowledgeable enough about the dishes to have the answers. He checked in several times without being overbearing. The atmosphere was relaxing and the vibe felt more high end while still holding characteristics of a more casual experience. The portions are very large and one plate could feed 5 of me on empty stomachs, so this kind of place is best for parties or very large hungry people or someone looking forward to leftovers. The dumplings were tender and sweet and the sauce was delicious enough it went into my Thai fried rice which was a cute dish in itself. My daughter got the orange chicken and they adorned the plate with an adorable little house made pickled radish flower though I did almost eat a toothpick- if it wasn't so pretty I might not have spaced that I had literally just said oh it's held together by toothpicks before trying to eat it. They serve Pepsi, hot and cold tea and lemonade but I was very excited to find they offered warm sake. Looking forward to trying the plum wine on our next visit. There was a steady stream of customers when I was there, it wasn't packed but hopefully y'all come show these people some love because I felt it tonight in the food. If the gentleman who held open the door for us can train those young men to do the same you'll have it made! I felt like a princess and I can honestly say that's the first time a restaurant has done that for me, I still feel warm inside over that gesture. The eats are pretty standard flavors for what you'd expect - the miso soup tastes like standard miso soup, the orange chicken tasted like standard orange chicken (though the cook rendered the chunks of orange peel and all a highly satisfying sweet bite) the fried rice is the good kind not Panda Express style. The dishes might have tasted standard but I liked how each one has something special to it that made it unique. Places like this are the definition of hole in the wall gem and what makes being a foodie worthwhile The orange chicken was actually mostly chicken and not 99.9% filler. And the chunks were HUGE! And the broccoli? Cooked to crunchy...
Read moreNever thought I’d have to give this restaurant 1 star since I’ve been coming here for years. But 3/15/2024, my family and I felt discriminated against. When we initially got there, it was going to be 5 people, so they sat us at a long table. Our waiter ( I’m not sure of his name bc he never introduced himself) came over and we asked if we could go to a booth bc the 5th person was not going to show. He agreed and moved us to the booth that was directly next to us. After sitting there for 15-20 mins, he finally brought drinks and appetizers. Keep in mind that we are the only table that he is waiting on, on the right side of the restaurant. An additional 10 mins pass and a group of Chinese men of about 8 come in and they sit at the table we originally sat at. The Chinese male waiter that’s worked there for decades, come and wait on that table. I’m thinking to myself that it’s weird that he’s waiting on that table but when we initially got there, the white boy came over to us. Then I say well maybe the white boy is new and probably can’t handle a big group like that. But when I say the Chinese waiter gave these Chinese men vip service, they got their appetizers within 5 mins of sitting down, they was served coke out of a glass pitcher and that Chinese waiter never left there side. So after an hr of us being there, our food finally came out and 5 mins later the Chinese men food came out. And we’re all looking at each other asking if they ordered ahead or something bc they was not there long before they was served a 3 course meal. So at this point we’re feeling like maybe they thought our money didn’t spend the same way. So we asked for to go containers. Now as many times as I’ve been to this restaurant, I know it’s customary for them to put your food in the to go containers. But our waiter did not and I also noticed that he did it for a table that was on the left side of the restaurant. So as we are getting up to leave, I see the Chinese waiter waiting on the table diagonal from us and they was also a Chinese family. So our table was the only table on the right side of the restaurant that the Chinese waiter was not waiting on. I’ve never experienced this at this restaurant or maybe I’ve never notice the difference in treatment between Chinese ppl vs black ppl. But I must say that it broke my heart. I don’t see myself coming...
