Another over priced restaurant for pictures who love to profile guest:
We had booked a dinner reservation for 10:45 pm for a party of 10. The reservation was accepted through Open Table, and we had confirmed the day off with the restaurant to make sure everything was in order. We get all confirmations, and get to the restaurant at 10 pm. We arrive and they āregretā to inform us that our reservation was canceled due to the number on their phone not matching with the number on the reservation. When they stated that to us, is the exact moment we received the notice of our dinner reservation being canceled. Confused? Us too. This interaction goes for about 5-10 minutes without a resolution or accommodations to this. We asked if they were fully booked (mind you, the restaurant was empty) and they said yes. So we ask if there was any way to accommodate us, they were hesitant at first then mention about putting round tables together. At this point, we were already there, so we agreed. They show us to our table, and we have to asked to have the tables put together. Weirdly enough, they didnāt have enough round tables to accommodate us AGAIN. So we notice a party in the corner is leaving who was around the same size as us so we ask if we May sit there instead, we can wait. The time is 10:30, and the waitress goes āwell our kitchen closes at 11, you wonāt have time to order foodā we are in disbelief because why would you accept the reservation in the first place and not inform us of your kitchen closing. So we are all standing looking through the menu, waiting for the table to be cleaned.
Essentially, big parties only get one check (which wasnāt informed to us until after we ordered), the waitress only visited us twice while we were there (she got an automatic 20% tip due to the large party). The service was not there, and we felt as if were being stared at the entire duration of our dinner.
We felt as if we were allowed to dine there, and we will not be going back. This place...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Market is one of the most esthetically pleasing spots in Tampa Bay. This review is based on several visits to the glamorous eatery @ The EDITION Hotel. Giving this restaurant 5 stars because our server, Ashley, and hostess (who I unfortunately do not know the name of) went above and beyond and provided outstanding customer service to us. It was the night of the 1st Drake concert. Even though I had tried making a reservation 3 weeks out at multiple restaurants near Amalie Arena, I was unsuccessful. No restaurant on Water Street had any availability until 9 p.m. that evening. So, we decide to "wing" it by trying to get a table without a reservation. But, every single restaurant was committed, except for The Market, which was able to seat 3 of us without a hassle. Not only that, but we were given one of the most beautiful tables away from all the noise. I appreciated it more than the employees of The Market knew!!
Keep in mind, this restaurant serves smaller portions, hence it is one of the more affordable spots on Water Street. As for our main course we opted in for Grilled Market Fish, Roasted New York Strip and 12oz. Niman Ranch Pork Chop, which were all excellent. Side dishes were, Market Vegetables and Rosemary Potatoes, and complimented the main courses well. My 'Lemon Drop' cocktail was perfectly prepared and smooth. As for dessert, we chose Pistachio Praline Cannoli and Tiramisu Affogato which were pretty good, but, honestly, not wow. Tiramisu is not made in a traditional way, but was quite interesting with Grind Coffee liqueur and dry ladyfingers on the side. Both hot latte and iced vanilla latte were fantastically prepared, however.
The ambiance of the gorgeous EDITION Hotel/The Market is absolutely stunning!! It is like a little green paradise in the middle of Tampa's Downtown. All of The EDITION restaurants are top notch, in my opinion. Definitely recommend this place for a date night, girls night or any...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDO NOT GO HERE, I wish i could leave 0 stars for this horrible place. My wife and a few of our friends went here for her birthday because she was under the impression that this place was nice and fancy with some great service. But it was the complete opposite. Our server took 30 minutes just to greet us, then after greeting us and getting our drink orders ANOTHER 30 MINUTES just to bring us our drinks. Appetizers then took another 30 minutes and in all of this time the server never even came to tell us that thereās a hold up or with any updates. To make matters worse, 2 of our drinks had flys in them floating around. Finally after an additional 45 minutes of waiting the food comes out, one of dishes had ANOTHER insect in them. Completely infuriated with the service and quality of food we asked for the manager, after raising our complaints about how long the server was taking to tend to us, and how long everything took, all the manager said was āWell itās a 2 hour experienceā, EXPERIENCE?! What are we experiencing? terrible service and insects in our food/drinks??! His other comment was āYou guys are a party of 8, so it may take longer for the food to come outā. I literally work as a server and I have had parties of 15 taken all by myself and it did not take that long for the food to come out, and even if it did i atleast had the decency to come check on them OFTEN and keep them updated. The manager didnāt give us any sort of discount or anything to make up for our troubles and it shows that he simply did not care. 0/10, would never recommend anyone to come here, donāt waste your money here. I can name 50 other restaurants in the area with much better service and food at...
