Love the food here! My BIL put us on this place years ago, the homemade ginger beer got me.

We always get the veggie sampler, doubles conch curry and I will get either the goat or oxtail.

Recently we made a huge order for our baby shower. We wanted something we love and outside the normal catering box. Sara made it easy to work with, explaining how large the order was, spice levels, suggesting serving instructions and providing coolers to keep the doubles and buss up shot warm for serving. We tend to like it pretty spicy but most of party does not so the food was mild in spice however she provided homemade hot sauce on the side, which I really appreciated. If it ain't spiced it ain't nice.

People loved it! Most were not familiar with Trinidadian or even Caribbean food. I had a great time handing out doubles and watching peoples expressions as they tried something they probably never would have before and loving it! My sister knew what they and took like 8 home(we had 50 so it was cool). We also ordered bone in curry chicken, Trini veggies and rice and beans with buss up shot. Sara had everything ready when I picked it up.

This is the best spot in Tampa for...

DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE!!!!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE BY THE OLD LADY IS DISGUSTING, RUDE, AND DOWN RIGHT OUT OF ORDER!!!!! SHE DOES NOT DESERVE TO OWN A RESTAURANT OR WORK ANYBODY'S FRONT DESK IN AMERICA. WHEN YOU COME IN, FORGET ABOUT BEING GREETED. IF YOU ORDER ON THE PHONE, THEY DO NOT TELL YOU THERE'S A PRICE LIMIT FOR CARDS. WHEN YOU ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT THE MENU, HER ONLY INSTRUCTION IS TO READ THE MENU.....SHE IS UNABLE TO EXPLAIN HER OWN DAMN FOOD!!!!! EVEN SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS CABBAGE (ON THE MENU THEY CLAIM IT'S TRINI STYLE, BUT SHE COULDN'T EXPLAIN IT UNTIL I STARTED PUTTING MY CARD AWAY) WHETHER YOU'RE TRINI OR NOT....DO NOT EAT HERE. FOOD IS OVER PRICED AND NOT AUTHENTICALLY A CARIBBEAN MEAL. SHE IS BY FAR THE RUDEST LADY I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS IN MY DINING EXPERIENCE. I WOULD'VE BEEN BETTER OFF AT MCDONALDS. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN AND WILL PERSONALLY TELL EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO WASTE THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I AM OF CARIBBEAN DECENT AND HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED THIS...

I wanted to have some doubles because it has been a long time. Upon arrival the atmosphere was quiet and people sitting waiting then after looking around I was ready to order when Miss Tara came out and said the wait time was 30 mins. I sat down and waited patiently then after time passed she returned and took my order and explained she was alone and very short staffed. I wanted to offer my help but didn't want to aggravate the stressful situation for her. When my doubles arrived it was worth the wait, very tasty good channa and nice barrah

I understand things happen each day and especially challenging with a business to run so if you ever feel like she isn't polite just think for a second that maybe the stress is too much for one person doing the job of 3 people and you can sit down or go elsewhere

Tara kudos for trying to get the job done by yourself and try to keep a positive attitude that will allow things to get better and stay strong...

I need an extra star for this review. Such warm caribbean souls occupy this location and the welcoming west indian scents and aesthetics invites you home. The menu is stupendously and authentically diversed. My selection was the Buss Up Shot (Paratha) Curry Channa & Aloo (Potatoes) which was super enticing and full of so much flavor. I even had the honor of hearing several kitchen and growing up stories which of course adds to the ambiance. I walked out of home (which is how I'll refer to Tara's restaurant) to a reminder that I'm in the U.S.A. A sincere thank you to Tara and her entire staff for fostering such a clean, culturally healthy and safe environment I love calling home!!!

I was in Tampa for a day, and googled this place. Since I am Trini, I had to get some doubles, curry chicken and curry shrimp and rice. All I have to say is I regretted going and wasting my money. Doubles was horrible the Bara was hard no taste, curry chicken no taste missing everything watery plus chicken wasn’t cooked all the way, and curry shrimp oh my goodness that’s is Cocktail shrimp that’s not how you use to make curry shrimp; that’s laziness. The lady running the place now is rude We knew that. All of you that are saying this is the best, you must have never lived in Trinidad. Come to Orlando or go to Joy’s in Fort Lauderdale. Joy’s the best!!!

Had Auntie Tara’s freshly made doubles and peanut punch while there. Doubles were hot, fresh, and delicious! If you prefer only pepper sauce without the sweet tamarind sauce in your doubles (as I do), make sure you communicate that before chef begins making the order. Inhaled my two doubles there and then once served. They hit the spot. Washed it down with some home made peanut punch…I was set for the entire day. Also bought a Trini snack eaten during childhood, spicy preserved Cherries. Pack was a bit pricey, but worth the find😌 Thank you Auntie Tara for the delicious food!
