Atmosphere: 4/5
This cafe has an open concept which feels bright and open. It is welcoming. It was not busy and quiet when I first entered. There is nice light music playing in the background. The concept is simple. There is a large shelf to the right displaying art made by the owner (according to a news article I read about the cafe before coming). It was nice to look at while waiting for our drinks/food.
We decided to dine in due to the hot weather. There is plenty of tables to sit and I also saw a small room with a large table. It could be possible to use as conference or staff room.
During our dine-in, there was suddenly a loud noise coming from a machine behind the counter. I recommend for those who do not like loud noise to use earphones or headphones because the noise went on for about 15 minutes. It happened again 10 minutes later for another 15 minutes. It continued to happen. It was quite distracting and echoed throughout the cafe. We did sit closer to the "staff office" which was one of the tables furthest from the counter. The noise made the air feel heavy as if you could feel the vibrations of the machine. It was bit deafening and hard to have a conversation. It was a lot of sound on top of the background music. It was a bit overwhelming for my senses. I may not return to dine-in if I need to study or work.
The tables were sturdy and chairs were comfortable. They were clean, bright, and matched the interior. The curtains were nice and simple. The area was cool and not too hot or cold.
Food/Drink: 3/5
As a personal rule of thumb, I always order an iced Americano. I asked staff what kind of beans they used and they responded that the cafe uses illy brand capsules for coffee. I was a bit surprised and a little disappointed because I enjoy freshly roast and/or grind-to-order coffee. I find capsules or k-cup coffee harbor too much oil which can cause bitterness to coffee and overall affect the smoothness of coffee. I ordered a 16oz iced Americano for $5.25. I was impressed with the quality of the cup and actually kept it to repurpose it. The Americano was bitter and unpleasant. It was too acidic. The espresso to water to ice ratio may need some work. I later asked for a cup of ice to balance the bitterness which eventually made the Americano smoother.
My friend ordered an iced sunny peach tea 16oz for $5.95. It was not pleasant to drink and the strong flavor of tea tasted low quality and artificial. We didn't realize until much later, after we left, that the tea bag was ripped so we could not take it out to get rid of the strong flavor. The tea bag looked delicate which may be the reason why it tore. I did some research on the tea brand and one of the sunny peach tea ingredient was artificial peach flavor. I was disappointed by the flavor of this tea. I would not recommend this tea.
My friend also ordered a mango cheesecake for $3.50. She was very excited because it was her two favorite things in one. However, It was small in size and did not taste fresh or pleasant. She was sad. I would not recommend this dessert.
Staff: 5/5
The staff was delightful when we first walked in. They were helpful with the menu when we asked questions. We did not order the special or recommended items because we did not feel like drinking something heavy with milk and sugar. We wanted something light and refreshing. Staff was also helpful to bring our drinks and take away the tray after we finished the cheesecake. Staff was also accommodating with my request for a cup of ice. It was nice to see staff helping each other and their team seem to be happy. It made the atmosphere comforting.
Overall: 4/5
This is a cute cafe. However, I do not think the food/drinks we ordered this time were good. I will return to try their popular items and give an...
Read moreItems are bit over priced. There is a level of Quality in the packaging. The bagel cream cheese is not worth it for 7 dollars. Just looked like a store bought bagel with cream cheese carelessly smeared over it. A total lack of power outlets for the anyone using a laptop or looking to work a little in a cafe. There is a room that is only reserved for 7 people to use, but it's considerably a waste of space since I never see anyone in there. The positive thing I can say is that the Wifi is blazing fast, yet again if you come here to work, there is only one spot for power besides the...
Read moreTo start, an absolutely precious interior with TONS of ceramic dishes on display, I forgot to ask if they were for sale, because gosh it was cute. My friend and I were the only ones in the café at the time we went, so it was very quiet and comfortable, and the cashier/barista was incredibly sweet. I wanted a white chocolate latte but with blueberry syrup added to it, and she was great at describing what she recommended for flavoring, so I went with her judgement and it was PERFECT! Drinks didn't take very long at all, either. Absolutely...
