not going to lie, but the best chinese¹ food i've ever had has always either come from a small store in a strip mall or an elaborate freestanding restaurant that looks like a museum gift shop.

𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙟𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 is the former: stripped down strip-mall glory.

everything on the menu is fantastic and they have real hot mustard upon request, not the stuff in foil packs.

even their vegetarian food is well thought out and filling.

another telltale of a great chinese¹ restaurant like this is if the food pairs with dr. pepper like beer and pizza.

dr. pepper and 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙟𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 pepper steak is a pairing i have literally dreamed about². oh, i'm pretty much a vegetarian, but i make an exception once every 28 days or so for red meat.

while it's easy to make a competent egg drop soup, it takes skill to make good egg drop soup. guess what else is rather tasty at 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙟𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨?

i could go on for a lot longer, but neither of us really wants that. me because my ma pa tofu is getting cold, and you because you suddenly want chinese¹ food with real hot mustard...

The worst, stale, cardboard tasting, egg roll I have ever had for lunch. It literally tasted like it was stored at the bottom on a cardboard box next to old burt oil capturing the essence of dandruff. When ordering lunch and it comes w/a cup of soup or a Rangoon or an egg roll and they treat it like a throw away it always tastes like crap. Why bother. We are your community. Treat the ppl that puts braces on your childrens teeth better. Whether you decide to open your establishment at a train station, a sketchy area or sling plates out of your home, everyone has to give YOU something (USD currency) so stop being so gross and store your egg rolls in a sanitary manner. Better yet, fry Thursday's egg rolls on Thursday's for Pete sakes.

With that said and HOPEFULLY some cares enough to correct it, the lunch was good.

I just ate here and though the sauce flavor was good, everything else was HORRIBLE. The chicken was very fatty and the spring roll was crunchy on the outside but uncooked on the inside. When I pointed this out, I was told that's how it is supposed to be. Being a trained chef, I am knowledgeable, as well as capable of frying a spring roll until the inside isn't mushy. I pointed out that I couldn't stomach eating anything else on the plate except veggies and noodles, so I asked them to fix it for me and to please give me more of them and they denied to do so. I got up and walked out leaving EVERYTHING on the table. So I spent altogether $10 for a few noodles... I REFUSE to ever step in this place again, and if you appreciate good customer service and being valued as a customer, I would advise you to...
