Hungry Howie's Pizza Tempe — Restaurant in Tempe

Well guys, it's unfortunate when you're having a rough day and hoping for some good food so you order it. But you never get it!

Basic story: Ordered delivery online, called 10 min later for confirmation cause we didn't recieve one. Women who answered was rude and in a rush, but apparently they did have the order AND THE PAYMENT.

After 1 hour 45min, we make the call and ask where it is. Same evil, rude girl answers the phone and hands me over to the manager, Michael. "The employee must have ACCIDENTALLY switched it to pickup, I'm sorry. But here's your options, have it remade and delivered, give you a credit or refund."

Ummmmmm, NO. the correct action, in my opinion, is to have it remade sent over or ill pick it up(since I'm no longer in the middle of stuff 2hrs later) AND refund my money! Or make some kind of effort to correct this.

How are you going to be ok with a two hour wait come to find out that its sitting under heat lamps the WHOLE TIME.

So this order was for myself and my two roomies. Once I got home I called and spoke with the "GM MICHAEL HAYDEN" who was anything but. Yes, he felt that he solved the situation but in reality he didn't. I was asking to remake it and ill go get it. "No. I don't give free pizza away. Idk what happened before but you gon hav ta pay fa dis". Literally exactly like that. (No offense intended, I'm trying to portray the tone and attitude in his voice)

So his idea to solve it is not take responsibility, offer a "credit" for next time and proceed to deliver the "old pizza" in his words.

At the end of the day we placed an order at around 5pm and got a 4hr old pizza delivered at 9:30 pm.

Horrible. My first and last time dealing...

I’d give 0 stars if I could. I ordered online and used my bfs card. He got a notice like 10 mins later that the payment was cancelled. When I tracked it online though it still showed being made in progress. 30 mins go by and the order was still showing in this status so I called. A girl answered and my info must have pulled up with my number when I called because she said my order had been cancelled due to being out of the area and she didn’t know how I was even able to place the online order. I responded saying if I hadn’t known the payment was cancelled, based on the site I would have way of knowing my order was cancelled. I asked if there was anything they could do to make that right. She said she would ask her manager if she could offer a credit. She then handed the phone to her “manager” who didn’t even introduce himself. He just got on the line and said “I refunded the money. What do you want?” I explained the situation. He started yelling at me saying he had called the number that was listed 3 times after the order cancelled and it was a different number than this one….uh…no it wasn’t. He said I had already gotten my money back and now I was just trying to get free stuff and this was my fault because it was a web order. I hung up on him. I called corporate and filed a formal complaint. I don’t expect much will happen if anything because it’s a franchise but if this review helps deter people from this location then...

I was always told that even bad pizza was good pizza... Nope-! Bad is bad, and Hungry Howie's is bad.

We ordered delivery to our hotel, which was only 2.5 miles away. I tracked the order on the app, and it took over 20 minutes to get to our room. Maybe there was another delivery on the way, but still. It showed up luke warm boarding on cold. But the funny thing is that it was slightly burnt.

The delivery person was not very friendly with no personality. Kinda wish I could take the tip back after the fact.

So, the pizza. Really salty. Hard to eat. The pepperoni and cheese was flavorless and the sauce was basically non-existent. The crust was doughy and chewy. Check the pictures and you'll see how much pepperoni they put on a pizza. Pitiful for a "Duo Pepperoni" pizza.

We hoped that they saw we were at a hotel and would provide paper plates or at least napkins... Nope... They didn't include parmesan cheese or crushed peppers either. That would have at least help kill some of the flavor of this awful pizza.

The best thing about Hungy Howie's is that they sponsor the chanel list in the hotel room. Other than that, skip this place. Spend a few extra bucks on something else, anything else.
