I don't like to leave negative reviews, so I don't really want to frame this as a negative review, but I felt compelled to leave this one despite it's lower score. Overall, I didn't really like this place. Maybe it's just not my preference but there were several things that turned me off. We stopped in for dinner and got a cheeseburger, spicy chicken sandwich, and onion rings. The chicken sandwich was very overcooked. The piece of chicken was breaded and fried to the point where the chicken was actually dry inside. It was fairly thin and tough to chew and swallow. The chicken was not appetizing but I just decided to eat it anyway because it was otherwise sort of tasty and I didn't want it to go to waste. I also didn't have much time to order something else because we were late for our next appointment. The burger we ordered was just a cheeseburger with mayo ketchup and lettuce and it was just okay. I didn't think it was anything special, but maybe just not my preference. The ketchup dispenser near the drink fountain did not work very well. The water from the drink fountain was cold and tasted pretty good. The onion rings were good. The restaurant had a bit of a smell to it when we walked in and it's not really clear to me what it was. Almost kind of smelled like old musty cleaning supplies or something. Who knows, maybe I visited an off-day, but I don't think I'll...
Read moreHow do I even start with this place. The chicken sandwich was so delicious I can't put it into words. The chicken was perfectly tender, perfectly juicy, and had the most astoundingly perfect sear on the outside. The pickle, red onion, tomato, and lettuce on it were truly fresh and quite flavorful. The grilled mushrooms were some of the tastiest I've ever had. If this sandwich was double the price it would still be cheaper than average for it's superb quality. The piece of chicken was so large that I was full before I ate my side of fries. Which by the way were some of the best fries I've ever had. Crinkle cut, clearly deep fried for us and not sitting under a heater for hours (or even minutes). The outside had the most perfect, light, crisp while the inside was still soft. My friend got the cheese burger and he was also amazed. His first comment was "oh wow, this actually is hand pressed" and his second comment after taking a bite was "ohh they use real cheddar cheese instead of gross american cheese". The only thing on the menu that we tried and deemed "average" was the milkshake. It was delicious, don't get me wrong, but the average deliciousness that you expect from a milkshake. I will be back, frequently, and I will be trying more things...
Read morePlace looks clean inside, but I'm always suspicious about a place that doesn't wipe the glass on the front door. It was filthy. I ordered a polish sausage. It tasted like a Johnsonville cheddar brat. Johnsonville cheddar brats are delicious but they're not a polish sausage. The bun on the polish was damp and soggy. I had to try to keep it from falling apart. The grilled onions were burnt and at the same time still crispy crunchy. They were not the melt in your mouth carmelized onions one would expect from a joint that specializes in hotdogs. I also ordered the bowl of chili with cheddar cheese and onions. I thought cheddar cheese meant shredded cheddar cheese but it doesn't...it's a cheap cheese sauce. The chili tastes good but would've been better if it was served with shredded cheddar cheese and heated all the way through. It was cold just below the top surface. Very mediocre food. Exceptionally mediocre service. If you like food and service that feel dead and blah then you might want to try this place out. Maybe the hamburgers they also specialize in would've been a better choice. I'll never know though because I...
