University Sports Grill — Restaurant in Tempe

Originally I went in because my adopted son Wopa Ramirez was eating Doritos while talking to me on Facebook FaceTime which got me hungry. He's thinking about summer work here in Tempe for he and his son so I took him on a tour of downtown Tempe and landed here. When I showed him the menu he asked me to do a review on the buffalo wings. I was not only delighted with the choice of rub I could have mixed into the wings but was even more overjoyed at the variety of sauce I was able to add as sides. While waiting I ordered a nice cold Doce Equis and walked out to the patio to enjoy the outdoors and chat with my friend. I was impressed with the speed of delivery to my table by the owners son Braxton whose demeanor and sense of service with a smile was refreshing to see. His family taught him to care for his customers. The wings were huge and crunchy, crispy and tangy with the lemon pepper rub I had the cook mix in. This mingled perfectly fine with the sides of traditional buffalo sauce as I was taught decades ago, a thick honey mustard sauce and a delicious ranch dressing all served with a satisfying dish of fresh baby carrots and celery. A wonderful place to celebrate the wins and losses of life's challenges. Thanks for the experience in culinary arts.

Great sports bar venue where one can feel comfortable. I get anxiety at the popular venue down the street as it is always over crowded / packed, therefore I enjoy coming here instead. Sliders are great! Breakfast burrito is delicious. Love the chicken ceaser wrap! And... the Fries are seasoned to perfection! Seriously the fries are amazing reheated in your air fryer the next day! Some unique flavors for the wings too! One of the more affordable places to eat on the block! Bonus points for poutine being on the menu as it reminds me of my family visits to Canada growing up! Go check this place out. Also, it's one of the few family owned businesses on the block. Gotta support small business...

Talk about feeling unwelcome. I am a local to Arizona and was made to feel pretty small when asking for a specific game to be turned on 2 of the unviewed umpteen TV's in the rather slow establishment. Our server was actually great, the owner was a complete tool. Rude, unprofessional, and obviously uneducated, given his approach to customer service. Pay your wifi bill or upgrade your system if you claim yourea sports bar. I wouldn't spend a dime in this place as long as this pompous circus clown was the owner. The food was absolutely awful. Thank God they couldn't screw a shot...
