Checkers — Restaurant in Temple Terrace

Was going to go to Burger King but saw this Checkers across the street and after wending my way around, pulled in. I have always used the ordering window at the front of these Checkers.

There was another person ahead of me and I stood there a good 15 minutes before asking that person if he had been served yet. He said "No." He had been waiting there a little longer than myself. I told him I didn't think they were serving at the walk-up window and we both got in our cars and went through the drive-up.

I saw that he had gotten his food and it was fairly quick. I pulled up when it was my turn and when the window opened, I got scolded for not placing mine order at the menu board. I told him nobody greeted me or asked for an order and there was nothing but advertising on the output. When I told him this he told me it's common sense and that I would now have to pull out and get in line and do it over. I told him I waited at the front window with no service and he said he was short-staffed and that I needed to pull out, do it over or not be served. I told him I would go someplace else.

He said, Fine. You do that!

There were no signs stating no service at the walk-up window and the treatment I got at that location was uncalled for. It seems to me this Checkers does not need all the business it gets.

On a positive note, the place I went to was the Checkers on Fowler Avenue where I got the complete opposite in service. At the window in less than 3 seconds, very friendly and a much, MUCH better experience!

Corporate needs to consider getting rid of the unfriendly person who spoke down to me like he did for things, some of which was not my fault! Maybe he didn't like my long shaggy beard. Maybe it was my skin colour. In any case, there is no excuse for the treatment I got and was completely unexpected.

My advice to anyone reading about this location - Avoid it! There are much better ones not...

If I could give negative stars I would! This place has the worst service ever as they served me old dry hamburger patties for the last time because I won’t be back”” not only were the patties old they were crusted and burnt! Mind you they had a line of people in front of me so why are the burgers old! Did they have a stack prepared for hours just sitting in a bin?? Also this was not closing it was around 9pm! Just disgusting then after paying for your meal they make you drive around to pick up your food! An elderly guy was in front of me getting his food of which you have to lean over to get it through your passenger window and they made no effort in helping him receive his bags to the point where his food somehow dropped in his window! He had to exit his vehicle to walk around and pick his items up from what looked like his seat and floor! Once I reached the window I noticed their dirty worn greasy uniforms and had my bag ready as if it was something fresh and hot, yea right! I will never eat here again especially at night which I believe the issues here is the NIGHT CREW! I pray one day corporate shuts this place down or clean it up literally from the outside, to management, cleanliness, food quality, safety, appearance and customer service! I can only imagine what that kitchen really looks like! I should’ve not eaten here anyway after seeing the drive thru window glass so dirty! I was not given a receipt and did tap for payment which the amount still hasn’t hit my account and this is the next day! I didn’t go back after driving off once checking my food only because I didn’t want confrontation or issues in this sketchy neighborhood! JUST DON’T EAT HERE, SPEND YOUR...

I went there right after the new year on 3 January and it was like 830 the young lady at the window slammed the window in my face for no reason I wanted some napkins she didn’t even ask me if she took my money like I said he slammed the door in my face I had a checkers dollarHamburger chili hot dog with cheese and I did not get the cheese no the onions in the chili let’s just say I couldn’t eat it at a hotdog or soon as my dog would not eat it And she’ll eat anything but she ate hotdogs the worst part about it is the white girl at the window into my home girls to white one was black The black lady must’ve been a manager for two little white girls I guess they Thought they were black I hate it when white people think that is a nice thing but it’s not , Not is it just disrespectful to yourself but it’s disrespectful to the other nationalities it’s just not right if you’re white you’re white if you’re black you’re black it doesn’t matter what color you are just act like you have some type of education , if you see a black person acting white maybe it’s because they know their English better than you and they have manners these white people and I’m white , that go around and act like Something other than what they really are, you will get nowhere acting like something that you are not so woman up or man up And just act like you have some type of education I don’t care what nationality I’m not a racist but when you’re trying so hard to Act like something you or not it’s just embarrassing FOR You, It doesn’t matter what color you should always embrace God has blessed you with stop taking...
