My wife found out they open a location near us and we’ve been wanting to try them for a while. The two ladies that greeted us were extremely nice and professional. The fried chicken was so good!!!! Fried to perfection!!! Make sure you ask for white out on the wings, whatever that powder seasoning they put on the wings, just elevates the taste buds. My wife got the fried catfish nuggets which were also good as well. We will be back!!! To add - we went a few day later on Sunday. We actually met the owner Kay herself. She was extremely nice!!! We didn’t even know it was her. We were telling her about our experience on the initial visit and didn’t know she was the owner. S/O out to her, felt like I was talking to a family member. On this day, we ran the same meal back which was amazing once again. This time around since it’s Sunday, we got their Greens which was really good! Must get the mild sauce for the wings, another plus!!! The mango and pineapple mix slushy...

I visited Kay’s Chicken on Bearss Ave. on September 4th and unfortunately, my experience was far from positive. While the establishment is promoted as Black-owned, the front-facing representative not black, was unprofessional and not reflective of the quality one would expect. Prices are unreasonably high for what’s offered, and the service was disappointing.
The cashier did not greet me as I stood at the counter waiting to provide my order. Instead, she asked what she could get for me, and I graciously responded, “a greeting” with a smile. She proceeded to address me with inappropriate street slang and, when I politely corrected her, she refused to serve me altogether. Such behavior not only reflects poorly on the business but also discourages me as a customer from returning.
With unprofessional service and inflated prices, Kay’s has made it clear they don’t need my business—so that location won’t...
Read moreThe wings are medium size. They put a Crack seasoning on them after they are cooked. Which taste like a weird sour overwhelmingly lemon pepper taste. It also leaves a funny aftertaste behind. Then side sauce that's served taste like a combination of ketchup and woreserwhire sauce. The Mac&Cheese was a decent portion size for the price but serverly lacked cheese . It was very dry and had more noodles than cheese. The cheese was also a bit greasy and lacked flavor. Very disappointing taste for the hype. I ended to paying $28. In total and I definitely regret it.
And respectfully and MORE ACCURATELY THAN YOU'RE🫵 calculating its more than 2 to 3% of people writing reviews that say your food isn't good! There's at least 6 to 7 negative reviews about your business establishments food you've served! Nice slick clap back, though! 😉 Nice time just take constructive criticism gracefully! The food I got didnt come...
