A Taste of Texas Family Food — Restaurant in Temple

Yes yes yes YES!!!!!

We have discovered one of our new absolute go-to spots in Temple. I spent almost the entire drive back home calling friends and telling them all about how wonderfully delicious the food is here.

The crew working is amazing - we were treated with family friendliness that you simply do not find in other places.

Have I mentioned how crazy good the food is? We had the catfish (possibly the best I have ever had in a restaurant) and the CFS easily ranks in my Top 5 (maybe top 3???) - it is sooooo tender and crispy, I was simply shocked at how truly delicious it was.

The food is served in to-go containers, as many have mentioned, but for me that just added to the delightfulness of the meal (plus it was handy because we were not able to finish all of our meals).

So, in case I forgot to tell you - the food is just spot on perfect! The green beans had amazing flavor and the okra... just oh my goodness... yeah... it is that good.

One thing that I realized on the way home, as I was thinking back on each delightful bite, was that, unlike several other similar places I have enjoyed in the past, there is not an over abundance of salt... I didn't need to add any, but so often the case is the food is overly salted. Not here -- everything was seasoned perfectly.

You simply can not go wrong when you choose to experience this dining event. Trust me... go and enjoy and then return again with more people that will be so excited for you to turn them on to this great little...

Hands down one of the best meals I have had in a long time. I ordered the catfish and it was perfection. Perfectly seasoned, fried just right, and absolutely delicious. The hush puppies were to die for. The sweet potato yams tasted like love and family in a bowl. The greens were seasoned beautifully and cut the sweetness of the yams in the best possible way. Even the cornbread was impressive. It was huge and hit the table fresh and warm.

My son had the hamburger meal and devoured every bite. The fries were seasoned perfectly and the burger itself was genuinely delicious, not just some throwaway kids-meal item.

The portions are generous, the flavor is on point, and everything tasted like it came from someone who cares about the food they’re serving. I can’t remember the last time I walked out of a restaurant this satisfied. We will...

Hate to give such a low review but have to be honest. Lady was very nice and answered all my questions. Food looked great. Mac and cheese looked off and tasted off. Chicken sandwich was spoiled. First bite tasted ok because it was mainly bun and breading. But my second bite was straight into the chicken and it was bad spoiled chicken. I could immediately taste it. What really shocked me is the fact they still cooked the chicken. So either they aren’t using labels/reading labels or they aren’t correctly using FIFO. Glad I didn’t order the sandwich for my kid. They need to do better. Very disappointed. Didn’t go back for a refund. I’ll just never return. Good luck to them but please use better quality and safety procedures for the food...
