I have been a customer of Joe's Pizza in the past before the pandemic hit my boyfriend& I have eaten chicken marsala & York style pizza. Last week I found out Joe's has gelato. I have done a lot of traveling in my time! I've had a really good gelato from Europe 2Singapore 2even Mexico! favorite gelato is not even in Austin it's a little more of a drive to Plano at Amorino Gelato!I believe I spoke 2Joe on phone & explained 2him yes I do know what gelato is. he told me most people in the area don't. He said come on in Ucan try all the flavors. That was week ago. So 2day I decided 2drive there I don't live in Temple. When I walked N & no 1greeted me gentleman behind counter or the 2girls working! Another gentleman not Joe was behind the gelato counter I asked him if I could get some samples. He didn't say anything. Can I please sample" pistachio, tiramisu, hazelnut" he looks @me dumbfounded! The look he gave me made me feel uncomfortable not welcome & not wanted! So I proceed 2ask 4pistachio I thought 2myself it's good I'll definitely get it but I want 2try some more. (Again I asked 3samples) I proceeded 2ask 4a sample :tiramisu, then of course the last 1being hazelnut. I felt as if I was asking 4 his 1st born child! Or something basically U shouldn't ask! Asked him how many flavors can I have in each cup.Told him I know what I want May I please try just 1 last sample & that will be it. (Being a total of 4samples he gave me the look!!! It's as if he was ignoring me the whole time & now a rude NO! uncomfortable I felt like I was not welcome even more.I have given Joe's good business in the past I was also willing 2get a large gelato. I almost walked out &didn't get anything,I downsized 2a small . I really wanted 2try the chocolate if it was good I would have gotten a large W/both flavors but his persona & attitude toward me! another reason why i did not get a large. If 3flavors is all the amount of samples you can try I understand that but they need 2say something. His response was a rude NO. I have money i don't act like I do! I noticed after I pulled out my credit cards & cell phone 2 "paid" his demeanor did a 360!!! Why? Because U know I have money? If you've ever seen Selena or pretty woman U know what I'm talking about! Over $3 ice cream 🙄 If U have a minimum of samples, understand but I was not told that. Even Amorino Gelato makes U pay 4what U want & then try the samples. It's his persona, attitude toward me, feeling like I have 2beg him for 1laat sample! a new gelato place N Salado couple there is nice couple who greets U &when U are asking 1last sample their response is more of "U can try as many as u want. we...
Read moreI actually called for a donation for a good cause and before I could explain the owner yelled at me and asked me how dare we ask for anything for something fun. Our kids march all year and perform and have to raise money so they can eat when they are out of town. And he stated he would only donate to churches and people in need. Kids that don't have the ability to work to pay for their own food are in need of help to raise money. These kids work hard all year performing and not for money. They perform to practice to excel in a trade. So yes sir we may not be homeless or from a church but this is our youth. And if we don't raise money they don't eat. The districts do not pay for their meals outside of school hours. And next time someone calls and speaks nicely to you and asks you a question. Why not just politely decline. I have never eaten at your establishment nor will I ever eat here due to the fact that you have to be the most rude person I have ever spoken to. Sad thing is this was a simple question that needed a simple answer. I sure will spread tje word to our community of how awesome of a person you are and to make sure they know who they're dealing with before they walk into your establishment before they spend their hard earned money on your business. Have a good day. And...
Read moreA teacher colleague told me about this place a few years ago, shortly after the pandemic restrictions lifted. At the time, I had just started driving for DoorDash and Uber Eats and made a mental note to try it one day. It wasn’t until last year that I finally gave it a shot—and I’m glad I did. The Italian food here is top-notch & the best in Temple. I’ve had no complaints when it comes to the quality of the dishes. My personal favorites are the meat lovers and Mediterranean pizzas, as well as the shrimp pasta. Everything is consistently delicious, and I keep coming back because I genuinely enjoy what I order and feel it’s worth every penny. That said, I do feel it’s important to mention one concern. While one staff member has been welcoming, the overall attitude from the rest of the team can come off as cold and even prejudiced. I’ve noticed unpleasant glares, and it sometimes feels as though certain customers aren’t as welcome as others—even when we carry ourselves with respect and just want to enjoy a quality dining experience. I keep returning because the food truly speaks for itself, but I hope the staff will reflect on how their demeanor impacts the atmosphere. A little more hospitality could make this great restaurant experience...
