For the sake of fairness, the food here is fine. I mean, it's nothing to write home about but not worse than any other place in town. That being said, I do think they need to work on the friendliness of some of their staff. Not all. Definitely not all. There are some very nice people working here. However, tonight was not great. We had a party of 6 adults, 3 children and a baby. 2 people did not order food. 3 people didn't receive their drinks with the rest of the table (regular drinks, nothing special - a water, tea, and a sprite). I had to get up to find the waitress to get out drinks brought out after she had already visited the table twice since taking the order. We tried to give the benefit of the doubt and assume she was busy. But we did put the order in. And I understand food service is hard. It's stressful. I've worked in food service for a while, as well as my husband (around 8 years). However, I don't think the bad parts of the job make it ok to do certain things. Our table was not visited very often, and when it was everything felt very rushed. Which is why I was one of the ones who didn't order because I felt like a burden at the table when I didn't have my mind made up in 3 seconds. Additionally, we were charged automatic gratuity which I also understand and happily pay any other time. But for the service we received, and having to leave the table to be waited on, and having less than the people required for the automatic gratuity to actually order anything, it was a bit excessive. I ordered water even and only had the 1 glass the entire hour and a half we were sitting here because whenever we'd ask for refills, we wouldn't receive them.
All in all, this was just our experience here. I realize others will have much better experiences. But I felt very compelled to say something as a warning in case anyone else could...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five out of five stars Alexis, our waitress, was absolutely phenomenal. She was prompt, friendly, and on top of everything from start to finish. She checked on us regularly without hovering, and her recommendations were spot on. It was our first time visiting Walk Ons in Texarkana, and thanks to her and the staff, it won’t be our last.
She suggested the mozzarella logs to start. They were crispy, flavorful, and the perfect intro. For the entrée, she recommended the Bayou Pasta, which paired perfectly with the appetizer. We only ordered water, but it came in large glass cups and she kept them full the entire meal without us having to ask once.
I asked to speak to the manager to compliment Alexis's service, and Alexandria, the manager, came over with a great attitude and let me know that first-time guests get a complimentary dessert. She also told us about the QR code we could scan for extra features and promotions.
We finished the meal with their donut bread pudding, which honestly deserves its own review. It was like a pie, donut, cookie, and cinnamon roll had a delicious baby. Topped with glaze and whipped cream, it came out shaped like a thick pie slice and hit every sweet craving I didn’t know I had.
Clean restaurant, great atmosphere, excellent service. Highly recommend this location and ask for Alexis if you go. Thanks for a great...
Read more4/23/2023: Wow! I didn't think it could be better than our last visit, but it totally is! Today's choices were the redfish tacos and the blackened catfish atchafalaya. The fish tacos were just a wonderful marriage of blackened fish, crisp slaw, and spicy mayo. I squeezed a lime on it, too...chef's kiss! The atchafalaya was full of spicy Cajun flavors...blackened catfish, topped with crawfish etoufee fried popcorn shrimp and a side of street corn...SO good! The flavors of both dishes were just a delightful explosion on the palate. 10/10 recommend both dishes! The service was STELLAR! Grace was attentive and so helpful! Give that girl a raise! 😉
Loved the garage doors and sliding doors, as they gave a cool industrial vibe to this sports bar and grill. We were seated immediately and didn't wait long for food after we ordered. The portions were a good size to appease any hungry man or woman, and the flavors used in the food were impeccable! The VooDoo (bacon wrapped & cream cheese stuffed) Shrimp and Grits and the Surf'nTurf Burger...10/10 recommend! Prices were higher than a Mom 'n' Pop establishment but not as steep as an upscale dining experience. $40 fed us both and left a 20% tip...not too bad for...
