Hello, I'm writing about my experience at the House of Pies located in Katy, Texas. We were celebrating my husbands 50th birthday, on May 4th, 2025 and we all decided to go to breakfast. I went into the location to ensure that they could accommodate about 15 people. I spoke with a manager and she needed to ask and she called me a couple days later and stated that they could. My great-niece, who is 7 years old has a nut allergy. I asked was the food prepared separate from the deserts that contain nuts. I was like awesome. I also asked about bring in an outside cake, and I was told we could. We booked it. My great niece's grandmother also called to make sure about the food prep . They told her the same thing I was told. We arrived at the restaurant and they were prepared for us. As we sat down and they being to take our drink orders a lady who she stated that she was the regional manager or manager came and told us that food was and the deserts were prepared in the same area and could not guarantee any contamination. We stated that we were told something different. She stated that she apologies and she also stated that I could not bring in the cake. Here is where the problem comes in....We asked could we go get the this 7 year old girl food so that she could with her family she told us that it was against the law to bring in other food. We know that is a lie because other restaurants have allowed it. So my, great niece and her mother had to leave and have breakfast somewhere else. To be honest we would have left if we found another place who could accommodate 15 people. They left and we ordered. Well, All the food did not come out at once. Three people received their and it was another 30 minutes for the rest of the food came out. However, we were noticing that other people with parties of 6 and 4 food were coming out at once. I finally asked the waiter and she stated that they were short handed. I asked her how did the other tables food come out together? She could not answer that. Other things happened with our waiter not checking on use and having to go get her and the food being cold. I will say this.. our experience was horrible and I will never recommend this restaurant. You guys must do better and train your manager on customer service and empathy... To think it was ok for a 7 year not to be able to eat with her family...

At first I didn’t feel valued as a customer, but her response changed that. It showed me they care and it made me want to return. Honestly, if I hadn’t heard back, I wouldn’t have come back, but her professionalism and effort made all the difference.
That is how you do business. You may not make everyone happy, but you can always try to make it right, and Amanda did exactly that. ——-
We’ve visited several times, bought multiple pies, and recommended this place to others. The pie is good, but I’m docking three stars because of the poor customer service.
Today, we ordered five pies and three brownies for the family. I ordered what I thought was the Strawberry Cream Cheese Pie, based on the online menu. Instead, I received the Fresh Strawberry Pie Slice. When I went back to ask for an exchange, I was told I couldn’t swap it because I said “strawberry cream” instead of the full name.
As a business owner myself, I understand how important customer service is. A simple, low-cost exchange could’ve preserved a loyal customer. Instead, I won’t be returning, and I’ll no longer be recommending this place.
Also, having two nearly identical pie names is confusing—especially for takeout customers relying on the online menu. We’ve always ordered a lot here, but if customers aren’t valued, it’s just...
Read moreMy wife and I had breakfast today and were greeted by Amanda soon after our being seated. Amanda was attentive before our server arrived and was very friendly.
Our server was Pablo G. We always HOPE to see Pablo when we go to House of Pies because he is definitely one of their BEST servers because he is always perfect in his timing with the orders and checking at the right time to see if there is anything else that we need without being a bother . He is very friendly and makes you feel like family . We always know that we can depend on him to make our visit a positive experience, he has been consistent in this for a few years now since the Katy location first opened.
Another person that must be included in this review is a manager named Sakhi. Sakhi is a manager that sincerely wants to know if every customer is having a satisfactory experience at House of Pies. He is very professional and direct when he inquires about everything going smoothly during and after your dining experience and wants to know if there is anything else that can make the experience even better !
I highly recommend going to the Katy House of Pies for the excellent food and service . I sincerely hope that you have a chance to encounter Amanda, Sakhi, and Pablo who will definitely make your visit one that will lead to you become a regular patron of this restaurant as it has for myself...
