“Damn, that’s a good burger!” Tldr. Delicious, hefty burger! Higher price point but worth it.
Those were my words after taking the first bite of their chef’s special burger while stopped at a light in my car.
On a whim I decided to stop by after dropping off my kid at the nearby high school. The space sits on the corner of a nondescript shopping center. The menu proudly features 1/2 point Angus burgers. They are no joke!
While the price point was higher than I expected ($12.95), I have to say the burger far exceeded my expectations.
Here’s the rundown: the thing was hefty. You can feel the weight of the half pound of beef in your hand. the bun was perfectly cooked - the edges were crispy but the bread itself was chewy with a nice give and substance. the grilled onions were caramelized and bursting with flavor, having been seeped in the hickory bbq sauce which my burger came with the meat tasted delicious; beefy and seasoned just right. They didn’t ask me how I wanted it cooked but it was prob a medium. Couldn’t see cuz it was too dark and I was driving but the texture was just right the bacon slices were thick, I did have to gnaw thru one of them because it was kinda chewy.
I ate half of it on the road and couldn’t wait to finish the rest off when I got home. I eat a lot and this definitely left me feeling full and satisfied.
I plan on going back with the kids in tow who all like burgers.
In the Sugar Land area, I think this is one of my new...
Read moreI really want to rate them higher since they are local, but we were extremely disappointed. I’m not sure if it was just the day that we went, but the food was not flavorful at all and was way to expensive for what you get.
I got the Cowboy burger and got it with a side of regular fries. The burger patty itself had zero flavor. Couldn’t taste even any salt or any such flavor. It wasn’t juicy and was super bland. All I could taste was the bbq sauce that was on the burger. It overwhelmed everything else.
The fries were also flavorless. Even after adding salt myself, I still couldn’t taste any flavor. My toddler who loves fries had one and didn’t want to eat anymore after. My wife got the standard burger and said it was also flavorless.
I’m not trying to review bomb this place, but I just want to offer some constructive (hopefully) feedback from my experience.
Try adding some sort of seasoning to your burgers patty. Make them stand out a little more in flavor.
Same with the fries. It tasted like nothing. The presentation was decent, and the burger did stay together. The bun was honestly the best part of the burger. I just wish the ingredients that went inside the burger were better.
I honestly wish I just went to whataburger instead, and I would have saved at least $20 and would not have left...
