The rooms are spacious but with some issues. One bed was more comfortable than the other. The bathroom doors are “barn style” that do not have a lock. The same door is for the closet. You have to purposefully make sure the door is closed all the way if you’d like proper privacy. Also, the rooms have a small fridge but no microwave which is annoying. Especially when they have convenience microwave meals for sale. We found other people’s things behind the curtains—including medication. Underneath the bed near the wall was terribly dusty and had wrappers.
Luis, I believe, at the front desk was hardly personable. I had an issue with the dryer—didn’t work after I had a load of wet clothes. We’re on a road trip, it was a necessary amenity for us. He just proceeded to shake the machine violently a few times. The laundry room smells absolutely foul, like the most intense urine scent. He gave me my lost $2 and I left with a bag of wet clothes. Hardly an apology for my inconvenience. Just some muttering that someone else or some other company manages that. My family went in and requested adjoining rooms and I asked at check-in if this was an adjoining room to that person and he said yes. Turns out that room wasn’t an adjoining room to anyone. So we had to switch rooms and he had no recollection of our family stopping in a few days proper to make sure this request could be honored. The first time they stopped in they couldn’t even find my already made reservation, so she even had to go back to ensure this could happen. Just weird stuff.
The lobby seating area apparently is not open for people to congregate and someone came over to give us a half hour to finish up on Monday night. It was a bit late, but we were just letting a newly 11-year-old open their gifts and have some little individual cakes. There were a dozen of us, and yes, half were local and not staying at the hotel. But, I’ve never had this issue at another Hilton brand, in fact I’ve always felt welcome to hang out and congregate with others. We weren’t drinking or being rowdy, etc. We were just having time for good byes as we head back to WI and they all live in TX now.
I’d stay here again simply for the indoor pool and proximity to family, but I do hope for a better...
Read moreHands down the worst and grossest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The lack of sanitation here is a serious issue. The first room I checked into had 4 small black pubic hairs on the tub. I had to change rooms at midnight. The new room I checked into had small black pubic hairs on the toilet and in the sink. I wish I was making this up. Housekeeping came the following morning and literally, I shit you not, she cleaned the toilet, tub, and sink all with the same sponge and soap. Mind you, this is the same sponge and soap used in all the rooms too. So gross and absolutely disgusting. I asked her to please use a disinfectant spray to which she stated they didn’t have any (what??) I had to go out to her cart with my towel on and find a disinfectant spray (they only had one and they didn’t have any bleach sprays either), I finally convinced her to clean the bathroom with this spray but she only sprayed the tub and half of the sink with it. I had to reclean the entire bathroom on my own with my sanitizing wipes I brought myself. Thankfully I did. I’m immunocompromised also so imagine how this went for me. I also needed to extend my stay for one more night and check out Sunday instead of Saturday to which they stated they couldn’t accommodate for me. I’m a HH Diamond member and I’ve never had this happen at any property I’ve stayed at. They were always able to push this through and accommodate me as a diamond member as per Hilton’s policy even when sold out. This hotel refused to and I had to uber to a new hotel. Exhausting to say the absolute least. Lastly, I woke up today with small red itchy red bite marks on my ankles. Bed bugs? Most likely I wouldn’t doubt it. Going to urgent care to get it checked out here shortly and will update this review. Awful hotel. Gross sanitization standards. Horrible front desk staff except for Omarr he was helpful but he doesn’t get back in until Monday for me to address the rest of these issues. I can’t recommend staying here.
Update : can confirm these are bed bugs per Urgent Care. Spoke to the manager this morning who told me he would refund me completely and send me the updated Folio for it and has...
Read moreI booked this hotel due to its proximity to Grandscape, as that's where I was planning my son's birthday activities. Great location!
The front desk staff were very friendly, as were the couple members of housekeeping that I encountered.
Now on to the breakfast buffet. While I realize "Eggbeater" type eggs are cheaper, they're just gross. It would be so easy to just make real scrambled eggs and have this one breakfast item be authentic. It would be so much better, in my opinion. They offered the typical hot breakfast fare and juices and coffee to drink. I would give it a 6 out of 10 because the potatoes and the sausage were both cold. You should maybe offer some non pork options as well.
I went to the ice machine on my floor 2 different times, and neither of those times did the ice machine work. Now, while I understand that this should be reported to management, I didn't feel good at all, either time (see next paragraph), and decided to forget it. It's still really irritating, though, when you need some ice.
Now, on to the cleanliness and functionality of my room. From the moment my son and I stepped foot in that room, we both developed stuffy noses and then, after a few hours, VERY stuffy noses, sore throats, and sneezing. I'm not sure what was blowing out of the vent, but once we left the room, we were fine.
The most disgusting and unforgivable infraction, however, was the amount of mold in the shower and around the sink. It was absolutely disgusting. There may be a correlation between the mold and the lack of circulation fan in the bathroom.
I typically only choose a Marriott product and have learned my lesson about venturing out. Never again.
Although everyone that I encountered was friendly, I will not...
