Traveling on Friday before this past Christmas Holiday, we stopped into this location: Store# 04101 in Tifton, GA on 12/22. Now, we do not eat out a lot nor favor fast food. When traveling, I always pack fresh, clean, and nutritious snacks and small meals, but my hubby wanted to try it, so we stopped. And wouldn't you know, we both got food poisoning! I got violently sick from a grilled chicken salad within 20 minutes and just hours later my husband became viciously ill after eating their grilled chicken sandwich and french fries! Ruined our road-trip and start to our vacation as I had to take my husband to the ER for a massive bacteria infection! Sitting in the ER on Christmas Eve! NO BUENO! We even had to cancel travel activities planned for the 4 days thereafter too, into our vacation! (Yes, I had to repeat it.. :)- I post this in the hopes that no one else gets sick by eating there! I was nauseous and sore for about 4 days after expelling the bacteria inside my body. My husband started shaking so profusely later that night that it woke me up and I had to rush him to the E.R.! Scary! Projectile vomiting and nonstop crapping, wet fevers: It was HORRIBLE! He tested negative for the flu. Henceforth, definitely FOOD POISIONING ZAXBY'S~! This has ended up costing us, to date, $125.00 in medical fees and medication! They had to replenish his fluids via an I.V. and give him nausea medication atop bacteria fighting medication. Note: Restaurants do NOT clean off the vegetables they use and they sit out for a while then are put back into a refrigerator: Breeding ground for bacteria! Also, most restaurants still use slop mops to mop the floors. Not only do they splash bacteria about, they smell and hold bacteria on the mop itself. Very unsanitary! You can even smell them. STAY AWAY! Make your own fresh and healthy road meals and snacks ;) Proof in the...
Read moreUpdate: They've been doing better lately. I still hold my breath when opening my plate but it hasn't been as bad and the chicken fingers, fries, and ranch taste normal again. Sometimes the fries are still minimal which still irks me. But overall, I've had better visits.
The Zaxby's on Virginia Avenue is consistently awful. They're always messing up my order and the amount of food you get varies. You literally never know what you're going to get. Last night, both of the orders made tasted weird. We got a decent amount of fries finally, but I really don't know what was happening with the taste. The fries and chicken fingers were either cooked in old oil, burned oil, or they've changed to a different brand of oil. I don't know, but it was definitely off. It tasted smokey in away. I couldn't put my finger on it. I'm tired of spending a ridiculous amount of money for either lackluster service, scraps of food, weird tasting food, or to have something in my order missing. I've gone to this one more because it's closer to me, but I might start making the trip out to Tift Avenue's Zaxby's. That, or give it up which I hate to do, but everything has gotten so ridiculous. Especially the...
Read moreEdit- The manager, Miss Sylvia was very polite when talking to me on the phone the other day and went above and beyond to make up for the incident.
Just drove 15 minutes to Zaxby's and back to my house with a to go order. My Nibblerz Meal was supposed to have Buffalo Garlic sauce instead of Zax Sauce and it had Zax Sauce instead. Then they neglected to give us straws for our drinks. When I called and asked for a refund for just the Nibblerz Meal as my boyfriend's Meal was correct I was told I'd have to drive 15 minutes back with my receipt to get a refund. I've had a similar issue with Fazoli's in Valdosta and they just did the refund from the restaurant without me being present. The customer service was awful, and this is coming from someone who has worked in food/customer service/retail for five years. It will likely be a while before I go back to Zaxby's. It's just not...
