Golden Corral Buffet & Grill — Restaurant in Tifton

My service experience at Golden Corral was a horrible experience.I assume Marquis was the head person that day.I came in to get To Go plates for my family.He pointed to the plates for me to use.My son said mom why not use the bigger plate.I wasn't aware until my son mention the plates.Proceeded to get the food for my family. So we where waiting for food items.So while waiting I got thirsty and got a little icy in a ice cream cup.So the lead person on the floor was Marquis. He was very rude .He asked my son was I his mother.Tell her that she will have to pay for that icy.Move to ask him about the icy and price which was $3.46.I didn't agree because it was just a little in a ice cream cup that wasn't filled all the way with icy.So the food finally came up.So we gathered it.So we received help from two waitress. But I wasn't familiar with the takeout process.So the dessert were on a different counter.I thought it was free with the meal.So Marquis thought I was trying to steal icy and desserts but I wasn't. I paid for my food.I told Marquis that I couldn't believe he thought I was going to steal and icy.He said I am only doing my job.But to steal and I dine in all the time.So the waitress were there to watch and makesure the food qas weighed and place in bags.If my mother wasn't getting out of the hospital and three hungry children I started to put it all back because of the service.I will be writing a letter to Corporate Golden Corral.It may nit changed thinhs.More letters they receive something will changed.I spent too much money in Golden Corral on this day.It was$185.00. I was very upset 😡 to think that I was going to steal an icy and to be watch like a hawk.

We got here about an hour and 20 minutes before they closed on a Friday night driving back home from FL. Was hesitant to eat so close to closing. This is a smaller Golden Corral but honestly the best one I’ve ever eaten at. Especially since covid. The food was so piping hot and fresh. Constantly putting out fresh food. All the food bars stayed full with plenty to choose from. I’ve never seen an icee machine in a Golden Corral which the kids enjoyed but they don’t have the usual cherry and coke flavors so us adults didn’t try it. I wish they did have Cherry and coke flavors. The desserts were actually fresh and soft. I usually don’t eat the cakes from GC because it’s always stale but this one wasn’t. Since there’s no chocolate fountain due to covid this location is doing something I believe all locations should do, they’re serving individual chocolate dipped strawberries & rice krispy treats. Genius! Steaks seasoned well and actually got medium rare steak. It does appear they’re short staffed on waitresses. I did see the waitresses even had to carry out stacks of clean plates to refill the plate station on top of waiting on tables. I don’t think they should have to do that especially with appearing to be short on staff & they’re covering larger sections of tables/customers. I’d definitely eat here again. I will say PLEASE TIP YOUR SERVER or stay home! I went to The Golden Corral several times over the years and found it very nice. I wouldn’t call it fine dining but not bad food and pretty good value. Went to The Golden Corral in Tifton Georgia on Friday night and was very disappointed. Before being seated we asked if they served fish. I was told yes we have whitefish and tilapia as you see on the sign. No mention of catfish. We don’t eat catfish. Part of the reason we went there was for the variety that was once served there. We were seated I went to get some food. Quite frankly the buffet was very messy and not very appetizing. Some of the food looked dried out. I asked the person serving where was the whitefish and the tilapia. I was then told that all they serve is catfish. When I pointed out the sign I was directed to the manager Donna She told me that there is of course only catfish. When I showed her the sign, she said with an attitude that it was an old sign and there was nothing she would do. I asked why the sign was still up and she said nothing. Absolutely brutal customer service skills. We had already paid and after a long day of driving had no desire to start looking for an other restaurant. We had some salad and oranges.
