It was a long cold week, and emerging from the ice and snow from a 8-day weather imposed isolation, I had sushi on my mind. While many had braved the slick side streets for tasty fare, I played it safe. So when I felt my life was no longer at risk by leaving the house, I headed to MoMo Sushi in TIGARD. You might ask why I capitalized the name of the city? We’ll in this case, my Sushi satisfaction would have to wait. Here’s what happened. I ordered from a Yelp app on my phone and as there are two MoMo Sushi restaurants in two separate cities, I made sure to specify Tigard, however, the software had an off day…happens to the best of us. When I arrived, I was told my order was a city away. The staff was very kind and after verifying my order had been received at the other restaurant, they made my meal and shared very kind advice about the inner workings of 3rd party restaurant fulfillment services. Tip for anyone reading, if you want to support a small business intentionally, call your order in. If you have to wait, it’s worth it. Support your local Small Biz. You’ll be glad you did and visit MoMo Sushi, the staff’s incredible, only to be outdone by the tasty...
Read morehe entire staff was friendly, always smiling, and made us feel very welcome. 🥰 The interior had a lovely Japanese-inspired design, and the mural was grand and majestic. It felt more like a Chinese-style palace rather than traditional Japanese decor, giving the place a unique and enchanting atmosphere. We each ordered a lunch combo. We were expecting the classic Japanese pan-fried gyoza, but they were served as deep-fried dumplings instead. The roasted pork, which we thought would resemble ginger pork, turned out to be thick-cut pork belly, more in line with a different style. While this may have just been an isolated incident, both of us usually finish all of our food, but the macaroni salad had an odd taste (perhaps old?) and we ended up leaving it behind. Overall, though, the service and the atmosphere were wonderful, and we would still like to come back and try...
Read moreI had a lot of high hopes. But this was definitely a let down. When we entered the lady bar tending was friendly and told us to sit wherever we like even thou there was a wait to be seated sign. She was the only highlight. A younger male server came to our table irritated and very unfriendly. He ended up getting replaced by another woman who was ok, but the service wasn’t great either. The sushi was SO disappointing. We had the California roll, I’m not sure what crab they use but it was very bad fish taste. The spicy tuna roll was ok, not mind boggling. What I was looking forward to was the momo ta roll. It was awful. They used sesame oil and to many other seasonings that drowned out the albacore and salmon. Couldn’t taste any cucumber. The roll was soggy. It was a real...
