**Update 2/1/24 - New sales rep Anthony Thomas, so not even a month after somebody promised in writing that this company would stop harassing us, to see if we wanted to buy again. They don't follow the Can-Spam Act, respect your wishes, and continue to harass my company with solicitations. I will NEVER buy from your company ever again. Why you can't get it through your heads and remove me from your list is beyond my comprehension - if you are reading this, they lied to me about almost everything in my contract and didn't follow through. They will also not respect your wishes and continue to send new sales rep after sales rep to continue to annoy you and try to get you to buy again. I've lost track on how many emails and phone numbers we have blocked or told to leave us alone.
**Update 1/12/24 - Zach John - Sales Representative emailed us the following after trying to sell us with multiple emails: "You’ve been removed from all future communication,
Sorry to disturb you,
Thanks!"
**Update 11/7/23 - They called and emailed again today, told them to take us off their list. We have no record that you want to be on our do not call list. I mean really. With modern CRM's and technology, you should know who has told you no and who has not.
**Update 8/1/23 - They still continue to harass me about working with them. I DO NOT want to work with you. It looks like my next step will be to talk to the AG office in Oregon.
**Update: 4/12/23 - They called us again today, asked to be removed from their calling list. Super unprofessional that they continue to call all these years after scamming my business.
**Update: 2/21/23 - They have called twice since the last update from me. In our modern day with CRM and computer tools, I asked both times to stop calling my company ever again and to remove me from their database. I'm going to keep updating this every time they call to show how unprofessional they are. I can't believe a golf course would hire them and it is beyond me they are still in business.
**Update: September 2022 They refuse to stop calling me and harassing me. If they call you they will not follow through with your contract and their sales people will tell you anything to get a sale.
Just google their BBB profile, "Pattern of Complaint: On May 22, 2017, BBB recognized a pattern of complaints from consumers regarding service and refund issues. Complaints allege that consumers paid Bench Craft Company for advertising services on golf courses in their local area but were not provided the services they paid for. Consumers allege they had to keep following up with the company on the status of their advertisement and at times the company was altogether unresponsive. Consumers claim that when expressing their concerns they were promised a refund but never received one."
This was my experience back in 2011. I have asked them to stop calling me now for almost 10 years and yet they call multiple times a year. Always a new rep and I tell them to stop harassing me, yet here we are again today. New person calling. Please...
Read moreHorrible company all the way through. First, they contacted us by using a colleague's name from local Chamber of Commerce, who afterwards we contacted and they said had not referred to us, and that they themselves had the reverse happen with using our name. Then the sales person on the phone asked for us to save our spot with a credit card, asked us to text back "okay to process". We did. A contract was e-mailed to us a few minutes later, in which it said "no refunds". However, that was sent after with NO mention of a contract on the phone. In fact they specifically said we could always cancel, that we were only holding the spot.
We called to get a refund to look at other courses, because the one we talked to said they had no contract with them. Later finding out they did, but not at all like what was told us on the phone. They only used the company for special events, not all their clients, which was important to us, not only because it meant significantly less people would ever see it (maybe 300), but it was all out of town, and our location is a medical clinic, which isn't helped by advertising to people who won't see us.
We thought it would be simple refund, but as soon as we mentioned that, they stopped calling us back, not putting notes on our file so every time we called they said their was no info of the last time, and started throwing the "no refunds" in our face, which we have proof came at the same time we sent the text, that minute. The only contact was for us to tell us what we wanted for an ad, which we replied to saying that we were disputing over and over. After over a month, we finally opened the dispute with our credit card company, and ONLY THEN did someone actually try to call back to resolve it. We tried to come to some conclusion, but in the end we still weren't convinced, and said we had no intention of going through with the ad. Now, we got a call that the credit card has been disputed with the text as we knew they would, because that is what con-man companies do. We will be talking to everyone in our local city Chambers and Rotary club and making sure they all know not to do business with the company. And personally, if it comes to it with us, we'll just fight them with our lawyer. This company is the opposite of a...
Read moreGolf courses don't damage your reputations by contracting with this company and if you're a business owner just hang up! This is at best an unethically run company. I was contacted by this company who said a fellow business owner had given my name as a possible sponsor (after the rest of this happened I learned that was Lie #1) then, after deciding on a spot for the alleged course guide (I have zero proof this product even exists and am skeptical one will ever be produced after reading dozens of online reviews of people having similar issues over the years) the salesperson called me back to tell me all the spots had been taken and only this one smaller spot was available. Naively assuming they were being honest, I agreed to the smaller spot but when I received the email I saw that not only had they changed my initial position to the more expensive inside back cover (which we had NEVER discussed) but they ADDED this smaller spot When I called the salesperson back and said I wasn't interested in TWO spots, he insisted this is what we had talked about and when I told him he was confusing me with someone else he became belligerent. That's when I knew there was an issue. I received several emails from them, but of course they refused to reply to any of them but certainly wasted no time in running my card - even after I had told them I was not moving forward with this agreement. They received no written authorization on the agreement but still ran my credit card. That's unethical. I had to report it as fraud to my credit card company so they couldn't keep charging my card and had to get my card cancelled entirely. THEN I started researching online and seeing this is what they do to endless victims and it pisses me off because they've been getting by with this for years! THEN, this company had the audacity to call me three days later for the "artwork" - like I would just turn over files to a scam company for the nonexistent agreement on the nonexistent product?? Now, I know it wasn't legitimate because they tried to sell me THREE of the alleged TWELVE spots available. I'm sure someone from the business will reply to this review and claim they have an agreement with the golf course, yea just like you had a non-existent agreement with me. . . .steer clear of...
