First time me an my Wife decide to try Al Smiths for lunch and this will be the last time. I ordered the Broasted chicken and mashed potatoes w gravy and green beans (NONE OF IT WAS EDIBLE) chicken was saturated in grease (no flavor) the mashed potatoes was absolutely disgusting worst I've ever had and honestly I would have much rather just ate some hungry jack out the box my Wife ordered the hot turkey and mashed potatoes w coleslaw they gave her 4 very tiny strips of turkey on a slice of white bread covered in there absolutely terrible gravy (also no flavor) and dont get me started on the coleslaw I don't know if it was old and turned but it had a pungent nasty flavor I've never tasted before we didn't touch any of our food I asked for the check thinking maybe they would offer me something off the bill since it was like eating slop out of a trough that pigs eat and nope didn't even care then I went up to pay the bill and nobody asked me if my food was good while checking out so we leave and I call and ask for a manager they said no manager works there ever so I said ok who is in charge and the girls tells me nobody so now I understand why the place was so disgusting DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DRIVE NEXT DOOR TO CULVERS LIKE WE DID (EVERYTHING THERE IS BETTER) DO NOT MAKE A MISTAKE LIKE WE DID...

First off the fries were well seasoned, super hot and crispy. Which tells me they waited to put the fries down until the burger was nearly done being cooked. That is absolutely something i look for when ordering a burger. Second the burger was pretty good with salt and pepper I added at the table. I really would have liked to add the fried onions they offer on the Tex burger for an up charge but as luck turns out it's only available on that specific burger. If you eat pork I would likely recommend the Tex burger for $3 more.
my Total was $12.66 (before 20% tip) with tax which is about the exact price of a large whopper with cheese meal. If you want to support a local business instead of fast food Al's place would be about the same price as Burger King (plus tip) if you wanted a...
Read moreMy family and I have been coming here since I was in high school and we have never really had a bad experience, but I was very disappointed in our experience yesterday. On our history of going there we have a habit of tipping anywhere from 20 to 30% depending on what we can afford and who is paying. Last night, I dont know why but my dad only tipped 3 dollars. I wasn't paying not did I have money, so his reasons for tipping that way were not my business. The male server (not even our server) who rang my dad out, commented on how 3 dollars was a ridiculously low tip for people who have been coming there for years and told us not to come back. Now, I understand being disappointed in a tip, but since when is it okay to speak to customers like that? Especially loyal customer who usually tip well? It...
