Review for Bob Evans – 2433 S Reynolds Rd, Toledo, OH 43614
I had one of the most disappointing and frustrating dining experiences at this Bob Evans location. From the moment I walked in, it was clear I was not being treated with the same level of respect or attentiveness as other customers.
There was a noticeable lack of urgency or care from the staff when it came to my table. I waited far longer than necessary to be seated, and once I was, it felt like I became invisible. Other guests were greeted warmly, served quickly, and regularly checked on — meanwhile, I had to repeatedly ask just to get basic service. Silverware, drink refills, even placing my order — all required extra effort on my part just to get a response.
What was even more upsetting was the undertone of racial bias I experienced during my visit. The difference in how I was treated compared to other (white) guests was too stark to ignore. No customer should ever feel dismissed or disrespected because of the color of their skin, and unfortunately, that is exactly what happened here.
This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and needs to be addressed by management immediately. The staff at this location needs serious retraining on professionalism, equity, and basic customer service. I will not be returning, and I hope this serves as a wake-up call for Bob Evans corporate and regional leadership to take a hard look at the culture and accountability...
Read moreToday went there to eat with my middle child. When we first got there I notice something on my knife so the waiter with no name tag gave me a new one. Which was good but when I got my food which was a steak burger I believe and a couple other things. I notice my hash browns with my burger were really greasy and my burger but at first I didn’t think nothing of it because I thought it was just the juices from it. But once I started to eat it I notice it was nothing but greasy bun, greasy burger really bad it was like eating grease. So the waiter with no name on her name tag was nice enough to take it off my order which I thought was really nice. But once she took my plate I over heard her and her other working talking about me complaining too much. Which was very unprofessional. I was going to give her a nice tip because she was nice enough to take that burger off my bill. But nope after hearing what she said I spoke to the manager and told her how unprofessional it was so they let me get my food for free but I didn’t care because the waiter with no name tag mocked me, where me and my daughter heard it and I thought that was totally disrespectful. So we will not going there ever again and I know if that girl did it to me she has done it to other people. And the menu looked good but they need new chefs because that food was not good at all. Plus I completely understand why it’s half...
Read moreWe had two adults and four children (including a toddler and a special needs child) eating. The waitress was very inattentive, never once checking on us after the meal was delivered. Drink refills by the assigned waitress only occurred once, when we finally got her attention to come to take our food order. We had to flag down another waitress to get refills at the end of the main course and to order the kids the treat that came with their meal, which the assigned waitress tried telling us wasn't included even though it was clearly printed on the menu that it did. After asking her to check into that, she gave us a long speech about how it was included, but she didn't know the new policy. The food was mediocre, at best. The soup and fresh fruit were inedible, but the service was so poor and the kids were so done that we didn't bother mentioning it. We have children and other family that are/have been servers, so we are patient to a fault, but this was ridiculous. The waitress we managed to flag down did deliver refills to us on the way out of the restaurant at the end of her shift. I wish I had names because she was the only bright spot and the assigned waitress should probably consider a job that doesn't involve...
