Nothing is wrong with this hotel, it's a fine hotel, exactly what you'd expect from a Comfort Inn; rooms are clean, breakfast is average. The reason for my one star rating is the absolutely, positively, worst customer service I have ever encountered in my life. I'm not even one to dwell on CS related things, if I ever have a bad experience I chalk it up to the person having a bad day and I move on. But this, this hotel employs the rudest, smuggest, most patronizing overnight desk clerk I have ever had the displeasure of meeting.
Long story short, we were in town for work and we finished early, so I went to check out early Thursday morning. After standing and waiting for ~5 minutes for her to finish her conversation with a coworker, the woman working behind the desk I could tell seemed almost personally slighted by the fact that I asked for the invoice for my room so as to check out early. She proceeded to totally invent a claim that it was "against policy" for me to receive a copy of my invoice (??!?!) as I requested. However, both of my coworkers had received theirs no problem already (both coworkers later remarked that this clerk seemed extremely curt and rude). When I informed her of this, she said she could email it to me. I stood and waited while she turned and continued her conversation with her coworker, refreshing the email on my phone, but did not see the email come through. At this point I lost my cool a little and asked her if she needed me to show her how to send an email, as I hadn't received it yet. She then wordlessly walked over to the computer, and miraculously, my invoice appeared via email moments later.
Now, this may seem like a trivial matter, and it was. But to have this woman stake her flag and choose this hill to die on was just so unnecessary, so base, so offensive, that it honestly took me aback. I have left out some of the interaction, but suffice it to say her lack of poise, dismissive tone, and disdain for my simple request added up to an experience as abrupt and shocking as it was unnecessary.
This is unfortunate because every other person I've met that works in this hotel has been nothing but pleasant. Overnight desk clerk...
Read moreThe rooms were very clean and so was the pool. The breakfast area was kept clean and they had a great selection. However, if you’re traveling with kids or just want a room for the weekend for the kids to swim this is not the place. Because I have four children they thought I was going to get TWO rooms (which I was not going to split my family for one extra person over the limit when my 2&4 year old sleep with mom and dad) the lady was accommodating and very very nice! The lady who checked us in was very kind! When we went to the pool the men working behind the desk was very nosy and he also made the comment “we like when people come in, stay quiet and leave. We do not like people lodging and thinking this is a place for fun or parties and being loud” which kind of made me feel uncomfortable like my kids were being “too loud in the pool area” when I checked in and they realized I had multiple kids they put us in the very first room right next to the front desk and I just felt like I was being babysat. If it was just my boyfriend and I , I would say the hotel was fine. I just do not recommend to come here if you have children that want to play. They made it very clear if they felt you’re being too noisy or not up to their standards they will keep your deposit and kick you out without a reason. (Which I paid a $200 deposit) we are getting ready to check out this morning and I can say if I am bringing my children this will not be a hotel we will...
Read moreThis was my 3rd time staying at this hotel over the last few years. I have always been satisfied, but this time, the hotel experiences wasn’t the greatest. The hotel needs an update. Surprisingly, the beds and covers seemed very new, but the bathroom looks like it hasn’t been updated or maintained in over 10 years. Everything worked in the bathroom, but it looked its age. There were a few things that didn’t work, but we didn’t say anything. The heater/cooler didn’t seem to cool the room, and the knob to have fresh vented air or circulated air was broken. The tray that holds the coffee maker was broken, but didn’t impact our stay. The alarm clock in our room was gross. We used our phone clocks. Outside of that the room seemed “clean” but seeing little stuff, you wonder overall just how clean is this place. The breakfast was not very good, and many items were missing. I don’t stay at a hotel just for the breakfast, but its nice to have a well stock selection. We weren’t that impressed with selection or quality.
One other thing I would like to say, as a traveler how I feel about staying at a hotel. When I go to a hotel, I want to feel I’m at a place of business, and not someone else’s home. I can’t but feel, this location is also the home for some of the staff or management. For me as a guest, that’s a big turn off.
I would stay here again if it was just for myself. I would question staying here for part of a...
