So I stay at hotels quite frequently as I travel with my husband for different reasons. I have gotten quite adept at writing reviews. After reading the good reviews from this place I was quite perplexed at how anyone could give this place a good review. I can only conclude that their perspective on what is good is really low or they have been paid to write a good review. I know that seems perhaps extreme or unfair but if you go there yourself you will see what I mean. Let's talk about the building. The building was obviously built in the mid 60's to the 70's. It's a throwback to when the toll road was still young. Over the years other hotels have sprung up around it . When the other hotels were changing and being updated with the times this one was neglected. The exterior has trim falling off, doors with dents and doors that don't fit. Locks don't actually lock. The pool needs paint and it has trim around the actual pool that needs fixing. The glass above the pool is broken. The pool instruction/warning signs around the pool aren't up to date and partially unreadable. They look original to the building. The gate on the east side of the pool is locked. And the transition room for changing and pool towels is not in use. So, the gate on the other side is open and doesn't restrict access to non guests. The pool is not heated. So it is really cold. If it's not 90 degrees out this pool will feel extremely cold. Let's talk about our room. The first room they gave us had obvious problems. We needed the bathroom and right away discovered that the toilet seat was broken. The light in the bathroom did not even work. The room had no carpet. It was cold brick that was cold and uneven and could cause tripping. My husband went down and complained about the toilet seat and they put us in another room. I was supposed to be given a room with two queens. Both rooms had two over sized twins. The beds were not made all of the way. There were two chairs in the room but the comfier of the two had a broken leg which made it unavailable to sit in. The door to our room had a wide dent in it. The floor had carpet but the carpet was so disgusting. It was damp and made our feet black. The toilet had not been cleaned in a long time. The television had been updated and the one chair that was not broken looked newer. The air conditioning unit looked newer too and did work fine but everything else in the room looked original to the room including the curtain which was filthy. The bathroom light was flickering like a strobe light and made me feel dizzy and sick when I was in there. Let's talk about the staff. I booked this room on booking.com so I did not book this room directly with the hotel. I was unaware until I arrived that they had already charged my card. But when I got to the hotel they had me run my card again. Thankfully a second payment did not come out because my bank is awesome at catching stuff like that. But that would have been a nightmare I did not want to deal with. They also told me they would charge me a deposit that I would get back over within next 6 days. The man who helped me acted like I was bothering him. I don't think that English was his first language so I am trying to give him that excuse. However later when my husband called asking if the bathroom light could be fixed he said that the light would have to wait till morning which did not help us since we were leaving in the morning. They do have a room service menu . My husband called down to the office to ask where the food comes from and the guy said he had no idea. He was very rude with my husband and we were astounded that number one he treated my husband that way and number two he had no idea where the food came from. In the AM we went down to have breakfast which they did not have after I was told they did. I approached the girl behind the desk about how black our feet were and she was extremely rude and defensive. She was obviously...

My son and I picked this locations mostly based on the nice photos listed for this specific property. We arrived to be told I booked a smoking room, although I couldn't find that detail among my booking information. The rooms smelled too bad to allow my children whom are 9 and 14 to sleep in. Then I was told they did not have any other open non smoking rooms. The man at the desk told us to hold on and he would see what he could do, after a few short moments, he came back to tell me he could upgrade me for more money. I didn't have any other available funds to do that, so I asked if I could just get a refund to go somewhere else with my kids. Again, we were told to hold on, until he came back and said they could upgrade our room for the same price (about $125). I was exhausted after driving so long and this was exciting, due to all of the other mishaps that came with this trip. We were sent upstairs to a room, with keys that didn't work. We went back to the front desk and another gentleman followed us back upstairs to get it to work. We had to have the two outside doors open to air out the room a bit, it had to at least previously been a smoking "suite". My son tried to use the bathroom to find it did not flush properly, even after many times of flushing. There were a couple pieces of garbage previously left. My son sat down on a bed to find it sports wheels and it slid out of from under him. Upon further inspection, the amount of dirt, hair and dust under those beds for having wheels was ridiculous. There were spots in the beds that I am hoping and praying was not bedbugs. One of the pillow cases appeared to have a blood stain on it. ALL of the clocks varied in times. The amount of grime on all the light switches was nasty. The rusty toaster and all it's crumbs on the counter was just a small blip in their failure to clean or update this room. The stove top was rusty and flaking all over. The oven appeared to have had something exploded inside. Absolutely disgusting. The microwave has been melted and never cleaned. Oh and we won't forget the MOLD under the sink. The pool wasn't quite as advertised. There were fire extinguishers not fixed in their designated cases. The bathroom door was cut and didn't want to close. There was so much wrong with this room, and I'm sickened they were even able to rent it to me or anyone else for that matter. I want my money back!!!! This room wasn't worth even a penny of...
Read moreWhile traveling through Ohio in September 2022, I booked a night at the Day's Inn Maumee. I booked online with the total fee, including taxes was $64.49 ($55 + $9.49 tax). When I checked in, the guy at the desk seemed confused, saying they had a new computer system. He never even asked for my credit card or picture ID. He finally gave me the key to Room 106. He mentioned that $50 would be temporarily charged to my credit card for "incidentals" (he apparently had my number from the online registration). When we got into the room, we noticed that the toilet had apparently not been cleaned, as there were still feces evident in the bowl. The bed seemed to be clean however. We went out to dinner came back to the room and promptly retired for the night after a long day of traveling. The next morning, we were awakened rather early due to the noise coming from the next room which was apparently being renovated. We packed and I went to the front desk to return the key and get a receipt. It was the same guy at the front desk. He said that the printer wasn't working so he would send a receipt via email. After a few days, when I hadn't received an email receipt, I checked my credit card charges. Not only had he not taken off the $50 "incidental" allegedly temporary charge, but he also charged $59 on the day I had checked out. When I returned home, I called and spoke to Stacey at the hotel. I explained the situation and she said she would take care of the overcharge and get back to me. When I didn't hear from her, I checked the credit card and found that she had indeed reversed the incorrect $59 charge, but hadn't refunded the extra $50 incidental fee. I called back and spoke to Jack. He checked and saw what had happened. He said he'd tell his boss who would correct it and would get back to me. They still haven't refunded the $50. So not only did we end up in a room which hadn't been cleaned properly, but we paid $50 too much to stay there. Don't...
