On May 15th 23, When refinishing the hardwood floors we decided to go and stay at a motel, because of the fumes. This location was close to my job locations I was working at, and the price was super (only $450wk)!
The front desk young lady attendant was very professional and pleasant. I got the key cards, and went to find the room location, so I could park closest to our room.
As I was finding our room, I was encountered by a young guy who walked up and asked me for a spoon: -"tea spoon, or any kind of metal spoon" ..I answered I had no utensils of ANY kind.
After finding the room, I went and pulled the car closest to that entrance. When I took my wife up to the room, she just sat down on the end of the bed, and asked if I was seriously expecting her to stay there... (with tears) she began pointing out the condition of the bathroom (which was retrofitted with Motel 6 required decor into their existing condition rooms) with caulk build up around the fixtures, and was dirty "looking" as well the condition of the rest of the room (which wasn't dreadful, but definitely not pleasant) the black stains on the bed, and above all the odor.
She told me: whether it was close to my work or not, she wasn't staying at a "stinking, dirty, filthy-nasty place;" and got up and walked out.
While she went to the car, I went back to the front desk to ask for a refund.
The front desk attendant told me, she was unable to refund me, and that I'd have to wait for the owner to return, which would be momentarily, and to just wait in my car.
When he returned, I told him that my wife complained about the condition of the room. And he informed me that I already paid.
Then I told him about the guy asking me for a spoon, and kinda laughed, and said: "don't worry about him, I'll give you one of the rooms at the front"
I told him no, I'm not interested, and if he would just refund me. He told me that he couldn't. And insisted that I just go ahead and stay.
I told him, that if he didn't refund me, that I still wouldn't stay, because I would not force my wife to stay at a place that was so disagreeable to her.
Then he said he'd have to charge me $80 anyway. (I'm not sure why he was going to charge $80 because we hadn't made any prior reservations).
I told the owner after the transaction was completed by him, that CUSTOMER SERVICE -the way you treat a customer was the most important thing!
The owner started to tell me something about a deposit of some sort, but I wasn't interested and just walked out very disappointed.
I realize that $80 or $100, or what ever it was that he charged me, isn't anything-really, but it was the principle...
Read moreOn 8/26/2024 me, my son and 4 month old puppy stayed here overnight. We had been on the road for 12 hours driving back to NYC from Nebraska and this was the half way point. Obviously we were exhausted and needed a nice CLEAN place to stay for the night.
This room (room 137) was like something out of a GROSS nightmare.
First off there was a no smoking sign on the lock of the door but there were cigarette marks ALL over the room from the floors to the comforters. I’m an asthmatic and I do not smoke.
Then when I went into the bathroom I noticed a hole in the wall like it was punched or something, and it smelt like piss. I saw a shiny liquid on the floor and I used one of the wee pads I bought to soak up whatever it was. There was a woman’s fake nail with a penny on the floor in it and the substance I think was piss on the floor NOT MADE BY MY PET AT ALL. Both me and my child were soooo grossed out and stayed alert to make sure we didn’t walk around without shoes on.
The sheets and towels has stains all over them and there was a towel storage unit on the wall of the bathroom. When I removed the first towel there was a used cigarette in the towel storage holder!!!! The towel storage holder has probably not been cleaned since it was installed. IF they washed the towel it shouldn’t be placed in a dirty wall storage unit.
I slept for a few hours because as stated before I was exhausted from all the driving, while my son stayed up with the puppy to make sure he didn’t consume anything left on the floors and we left a few hours later. If I didn’t have my puppy we totally would have left immediately but not all places except dogs. Obviously we didn’t take a shower there. Overall, we will NEVER return here. This place clearly has NO ONE to walk through and check the cleanliness of the rooms.
I’m a general manager of amenities and I can see there is ZERO management in this place. After driving for hours this is the last thing I would want to pay for and deal with. Buy new sheets, and towels. Fix up the hole in wall, Get better cleaning supplies and staff, and have management walk through to make sure the rooms are completely cleaned. I know this place is not the Ritz Carlton HOWEVER it doesn’t need to look like an abandoned homeless shelter or smell like it.
I didn’t tell the team about my experience after reading the previous reviews left about the lack of help or refund by the team and / or management.
I’m definitely laid back and easy going and I don’t leave many reviews. I only leave one if the experience was phenomenal or extremely horrible. Well this falls on the extremely horrible side. Photos...
Read moreYour staff at this location are not only rude, but are sarcastic, mean and have horrible customer service skills. I booked and payed for my room over the phone using option 2 on their phone menu and made sure to tell her I would be checking in at 10pm.she said that was completely fine and also that I could make any changes I needed to at the desk when I arrived at the location.2 nights earlier I had called the location and asked how much a pet room for a week would be and was quoted $214 before tax. When I arrived to check in not only was my reservation not booked from earlier in the day when I paid for it, but was told I "was crazy if I thought someone quoted me that price" and that a week would be above $350. I tried to figure out what had happened and asked them what happened and they argued sarcastically with me for another 5 minutes and basically forced me to pay AGAIN for a different room and told me they couldn't find out for me where my money I paid was or who booked my room and that was the only option I had or I could find somewhere else to go. (I chose this location based on price and that you could check in late as I worked til 10pm that day and HAD to stay in a hotel.) The next day when I needed to change my room key because I needed to stay there another night, I was greeted with dirty looks before I even entered the office and sarcasm once again. Upon checking out I was AGAIN greeted with dirty looks before walking in, and sarcasm the entire time and when I told the guy working to have a nice day he told me "it would be nicer if I paid him a million dollars" with extreme sarcasm in his voice. After I already paid him for 3 nights for the price I couldn't afford, instead of 1. If he would have been joking or laughing or something insulating he was joking I wouldn't have been upset and would have even laughed with him (cause who's day wouldn't be better if a stranger walked up and paid them a million dollars! Lol), but the dirty looks and sarcasm and hostile attitude he showed the entire time and every time I needed to interact with him, just made me feel he was straight up just being a jerk on purpose. Needless to say I won't...
