This review about my horrible experience is because of Sherry that works 3rd shift.. My fiance and I are traveling for work, and this is the first time we have been in this area. We arrived early this morning around 3 am and checked in our hotel. Just getting off the road we were both hungry, we decided on waffle house. We arrived at this location and as we entered a lady behind the counter said very bluntly, "is this for here or to go?". We stated that we were dining in, and proceeded to sit down at a booth close to the bar seats. The same lady approached us with menus and silverware, my fiance requested plastic utensils. She responded by saying "you should have told me that first, and you are aware that plastic silverware are for takeout orders only, there is a charge for them." My fiance stated that we have never heard that before and asked how much they were, and informed her that we do this regularly. She proceeded to have a disturbing attitude and said not to worry about it. She brought the plastic utensils, and took our drink order. After receiving our drinks, we ordered our food and thanked her. The entire time she was walking back and forth sighing and making comments under her breath, it was very uncomfortable. Anyone that walked in, as soon as they hit the door she was yelling out "is this for here or to go?" It was not a welcoming atmosphere at all. The cook was very nice and the food tasting amazing, our bill was $45. As we were still eating, we decided to order two pieces of steak each on 2 slices of bread, so that we had a sandwich for later. The lady wrote the check for the items we ordered to go: 2 pieces of steak, and 4 pieces of bread. She was going to charge us 25 more dollars for only those 6 items. To begin with, we had ordered 2 full meals, 2 coffees, a soft drink, and added 2 eggs, and cheese to both meals and it was only $45. We spoke up and informed her of this, and told her that is way too much that we did not want it. She was very angry, and said "well, you guys didn't leave a tip anyway." That is when I asked for her name which is Sherry, and I informed her that was very rude and unprofessional for her to say that to us and in front of others. We had not even finished eating yet, my fiance just wanted to take care of the bill and get the to-go order started early so that we did not have to wait. I told her that she had no clue whether or not we were going to tip. She said "you paid on a card, and you did not tip me." I told her we only do cash tips and she was completely wrong for dealing with us that way. I informed her that I will not be leaving a tip now due to her being so miserable and mean to us and I will be writing a review on my experience, and contacting waffle house. I am very disappointed in the service we received, she was so mean and had such a disgusting bad attitude that I was going to forget about it but it was so bad I couldn't stop thinking about it all day today. I'm mad I spent my money there and sat there uncomfortable the entire time, sherry tried to argue and humiliate us in front of people.. Read moreMy Bestie and I strolled into this location at about 11pm. We were encountered by one of the most amazing women I've ever encountered thus far in my life. She wore a platinum blonde pixie cut, and the most business oriented leveled attitude I've ever seen. Let me be clear to say she practiced the art of being a Saint, SHE WAS THE ONLY ONE ON STAFF, SHE WAS THE GREETER, THE WAITRESS,THE HOSTESS, THE COOK, THE EXPEDITURE!! She managed to do all this with doubled up orders and still take at least 8 more orders after ours. I wish I could've tipped her more money but it's hard times and I was treating my bestie to a meal. Which was superb!!! She killed it in the kitchen!! Soooo I'm calling on your CORPORATE HIGHER UPS. GIVE MY PLATINUM BLONDE PIXIE BEAUTY A BONUS PLUS A DOUBLE WAGE INCREASE!! SHE'S DOING AND 6 PERSON CREWS JOB SHE'S WORKING HARDER THAN A JAMAICAN, WHICH I AM AND TREAT HER ABOVE & BEYOND BEFORE THE END OF THIS YEAR . You have a true class act working there, she's gone above and beyond to ensure your business is still reputable, AND with and EXTREME deficit in staff. MEANING IT'S JUST HER ALL NIGHT!! If She's going to flawlessly master patronage out like that, THEN appreciate the Gem you have. It's BEYOND her doing it just for a check as far as I'm concerned. Even through the pressure of how busy it was her professional surpassed any standard you've set for your business. Unfortunately, I didn't get that Angels name but she's a petite platinum pixie cut tattooed dream. And she was the ONLY ONE working last night!!!!!! Read moreCame in today (04/08/2024, day of eclipse) around 5pm with a friend and our 5 children. There were 3 staff members working. There were 5 empty tables that still neeeded to be cleaned and no sense of urgency from staff to clean tables. We stood in the waiting area for about 20 minutes until I finally decided to take matters into my own hands and clean a table for our children that were growing restless. Our waitress, Angel, came over and said to us “are you trying to sit here”, I said yes and she responded with “you’ll have to give me a minute, I’m busy”. We waited about 10 minutes for her to come back. When she did, she told my 3 year old to “sit down” and took our order. Every time I tried to speak, she said “anything else??”. Half of the order came out, 3 waffles, which she slammed on the table, one plate almost hitting my 1 year old in the face. She quickly and flatly said “I’m sorry”. Another 10 minutes goes by and she brings two cups to the table, I’m assuming water. Then sternly told my friends 2 year old “DO NOT SPILL THAT”. My part of the meal comes out about 5 minutes later, incorrect. When I corrected her, she checked her notepad and took it back. She then brought it back out incorrectly again… after all of our food was served, we had to ask the cook, Joseph, for the 2 drinks we were missing, he was very polite, grabbed the drinks immediately and apologized for everything. I will admit that I do already have low expectations for Waffle House, but Angel was extremely rude and unprofessional. Shoutout to Joseph for being apologetic and our food...
