As much as I want to rate this place highly, my last six experiences here have been horrible. 4 of these 6 orders were DoorDash orders I had placed. Every time we ordered, there was at least one thing missing from the order. Most particularly, my mom order’s a quart of sheer cheese soup every time. They have forgotten this. Every. Single. Time. Our last and probably final DoorDash order, we were missing a pizza and our quart of soup. I called a second time (because they didn’t answer the phone the first time) to ask if we could just come and pick up the missing items. I mentioned my displeasure in the recent service and there was no apology or anything. We did end up getting the food, but it still sucked to drive almost an hour round trip on top of waiting an hour for the DoorDash order.

Now, you might think going in person is better. It’s not. The system here is beyond dysfunctional, where the servers are also the bartenders, the bussers, and the food runners. This is a horrible system! I recall spending 15 minutes waiting to be greeted by a server (who was bussing their tables and making their other table’s drinks), only for us to walk out and eat somewhere else due to time restrictions. The service is horrible because of the system. Drink refills took forever and to go boxes/the bill took anywhere from 10-25 minutes to get. It would be less upsetting if there wasn’t usually always a small group of employees talking/laughing by the kitchen door doing nothing to help.

I really love the food here and it’s why I kept coming back time and time again, but at this point the lack of service and care in their customers has become heartbreaking. I can’t continue to visit this establishment if nothing changes. I have been a long time customer of 12+ years, so to see it barely functioning is disgraceful. I leave this review not just to warn others, but in hopes the owner reads it and makes some...

It's been 15 years since I've been here. No more cask ales!! šŸ˜ž they used to make a great Cask IPA. Anyways I did a flight of six beers. To me, none were worth returning for. The Glass Hopper IPA tasted like pickle juice/dirty beer line. The Fake Ipa was the most quaffable. Stout was ok. Had a Ruben. Thick cut. It was good. Meat was cooked nicely. Bread was fresh. Chips were good. Bar tender was awesome. Helpful with recommendations and very attentive. Great job. The manager, on the other hand, I encountered several times during the visit. First, when I questioned the pickle juice. The manager said it's fine....ok....matter of taste...(poor taste). She stood right in front of me for a few minutes at the bar several times. There were only 2 of us at the bar. Never looked at me..... She never once asked how my meal was, how the beer was, was everything ok? ZERO engagement. She was also at the bottom of the steps as I was leaving. Not even a thank you, come again....nothing. Actually.....looked the other way. I guess that's what employees are for....to handle customers. Managers are for handling employees. How these people wind up in the service industry I will never know. There is much more to being a manager than walking around with the big set of keys sipping a Coke all night. The rest of the staff was totally awesome. At least two of the other waitresses stopped by and chatted about the beer and the food. They were all very nice and attentive. The bartender should be the manager, the manager should be the janitor.

The Oliver house building is a really cool historic brick warehouse. I'm not sure what it used to be, but it is a great space and a lot of fun to be in.

I'm not from Toledo, so this is way out of my way. I'll be back in another 15 years to try...

Maumee Bay Brewing Company is easily one of the standout spots in Toledo for both food and craft beer lovers. Housed in the historic Oliver House, the atmosphere blends rustic charm with a lively, welcoming vibe. Whether you're stopping in for a casual lunch, a date night, or a group outing, the setting hits just right.

The brews are phenomenal—crafted on-site, with a wide range of options to suit every taste, from hoppy IPAs to rich stouts and seasonal specialties. Beer flights are a fun way to explore the menu, and there’s always something new or limited on tap for returning guests.

The food is just as impressive—elevated pub fare with a local twist. Their pizzas are popular for a reason, and the appetizers and entrees are hearty, fresh, and consistently well-prepared. Portions are generous, and the kitchen clearly takes pride in their offerings.

The service has always been top-notch during my visits—friendly, attentive staff who know the menu well and make you feel right at home. You can tell they enjoy being part of a local gem.

And then there are the views—if you grab a table near the windows or hang out on the patio (weather permitting), you’re treated to scenic glimpses of the Maumee River and downtown Toledo, adding a special touch to the overall experience.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Maumee Bay Brewing Company is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great beer, great food, and great people. Highly recommended.

I read about this place and took my family of four to check it out. It's tucked away down a brick street in a 150+ year old building and it's awesome. We had Noah as a server and he was superb. Him and the hostess both said it was their first brunch they worked so they weren't quite sure about process, but super friendly. We asked what others thought about the brunch top dishes and was told "everything; you won't be disappointed".... And they were correct! My son had the pb&j French toast... And i lost my mind... The bacon and cream cheese added was unreal... Creamy, sweet, salty and friggin rad. Only thing, you have to spread the cream cheese since it was a glob. My daughter had the avocado toast, and that was delicious, with the fried egg on top and microgreens. My wife had the Florentine omelet and it was equally delicious... It did need salt and pepper, but still a great omelet! I had the breakfast tacos and the chorizo waz on point. Homemade pico was good and we devoured everything as best we could. Portions were spot on.... But the other best part, taking a look around at the old building and all the rooms. You go upstairs and you can the brewers. They have outdoor seating as well. So do yourself a favor and go check this place out.

***Please read past my first review*** Super cool atmosphere!! The food was awesome and if you are thinking about getting the pretzel and beer cheese...DO IT! The pretzel is delicious and as big as your head! ***My original review was made 2+ years ago. Back then the food was awesome as was the staff. Today ...whew....these folks need to step it up. My son's burger was burnt on one side, my Cuban barely had any meat in it and the bottom was soggy, the chips had no seasoning...at all!!, my hubby, who likes everything, really didn't like his burger because it had no flavor and when ordering the large pretzel, the waitress only brought us beer cheese, not the sweet dip that should come with it. I asked our waitress if they had root beer. She said yes but never bothered to tell me that it was $5 per glass w/ no refills and it wasn't a normal root beer. It was not my thing at all. Our waitress loved to throw around the "sweetie" words but we had to wave her over for refills and anything we needed because she was too busy chatting with staff. This place had only 4 tables of people there. I'm incredibly disappointed with the whole meal and service. We drove up from Lima because I told everyone how good it was two years ago. Do better.

Made reservations on Monday the 23rd for accommodations for a party of 20 on Wednesday called to make sure reservations were good to go and figure out how would we be seated they said we could set together it would not be a problem there will be plenty of room for us and they also suggested that we could buy a $75 private room so here's the catch they split us up at the tables we came with 16 people the tables were sticky the waitress was horrible. We ask for the manager to try to work out the reservation that were told to us that we could all sit together and they did not accommodate us in any way it was my husband's birthday we did not even order food we ordered an appetizer and 6 beers a salad and apparently a $15 drink don't ask me why it was $15 but anyway the bill was $76 just for us and there were 10 different bills. Everyone tip the waiter even though she was awful we made one of our guests wait 20 minutes to get a drink because she was a few minutes late getting there the manager had no knowledge of our reservations and had the nerve to say that even if we paid $75 for the private room we would still have to sit at different tables. I would not recommend this place to anyone especially not for any type of family dinner.
