My visit: lunch time on November 1, 2023: Warning, despite what its website and social meduia states, Packo's at the Park DOES NOT have free parking across the street anymore, and they've got no signage out front on its side of the street stating that the parking across the street is NOT free.
Their service rating also gets dinged for allowing a phone call at 11:45 a.m. EDT, which was me calling from the formerly free parking lot attempting to confirm whether the parking, which had been free when I've eaten there in the past, to go to voice mail, which, honestly, felt like it was forwarded by a human being.
The service gets dinged yet again when the arroant and dismissive gargoyle behind the bar and waiting on the front room, on my inquiry as to whether the parking across the street was free, looked at me like I had horns on my head and curtly dismissed me saying, "we don't have free parking."
Suffice it to say that my lunch mate and I ordered from the counter, because pigs would fly majestically before I'd have allowed that sorry sack to wait on us. However, fairness mandates that I both acknowedge and give good marks (why my service star count isn't zero) to the employee who took our counter order, because he was sincere, apologetic and understanding, and he promised to put in a ticket with Packo's IT to correct the website.
While the food was up to its usual Packo's standards, the service and staff (save the counter soul) was most assuredly NOT, and quite offensive and unacceptable. Disappointing to say...
Read moreMy family had a brunch on Sunday for about 90 people the day after my daughter’s wedding. It was a blast! The manager, Casey, was professional and helpful with setting up the details for the event. He is passionate about Packo’s and Downtown Toledo which really showed on Sunday. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves. We had two buffet lines that never lacked any food. Casey and Jessica went above and beyond to make sure everyone was satisfied with their food and how it was set up. The food of course was delicious as it always is when we eat at Packo’s. Casey was especially helpful making sure we had gluten free items for some of our guests. Even offering gluten free hot dog buns to go with gluten free hot dogs. Casey was also able to reserve the parking lot across the street for us at no charge. Our theme for the weekend was to have everything downtown and Packo’s at the Park was the perfect choice! Having the whole restaurant to ourselves made the day even more special. Great food and a fun atmosphere for a fantastic celebration! Our family and friends loved the party and could not say enough about how tasty the food was. The out of towners who had never been to a Packo’s before were highly impressed. If you are having a smaller celebration, the party room is an excellent choice too. Most of our guests ended up in the separate room or in the wonderful bar...
Read moreWe love Tony Packo's. This location served good tasting, hot food. Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives. The employees acted disinterested and seemed to have no desire to create a positive customer experience. There were employeesi withn site giggling while looking at their phones. When the food was dropped off, the crew member abruptly put the first the tray on the table without comment. There was dirty silverware on the tray, as well as missing silverware. The second tray was delivered in the same manner. The hotdogs were inconsistently cut in half. One person's half dog was thick while another's was very thin. The chili on the dogs was also inconsistently applied. One had a good amount, while another had a thinner layer of chili. Everything about this place screamed CHEAP! Serving half a dog is cheap. The napkins were so thin that they were practically useless. The salt and pepper shakers had mystery filth on them. The interior was clean and stark. It was not warm at all. The booths were uncushioned flat wood. Quite uncomfortable. The bill for 4 people was well over $50. No sides. No drinks. This is a high price for an almost self-served meal. We where very disappointed and will go to the original...
