I had an interesting experience. I give this a two star because the workers minus the one helping me were being jerks, not because the food was bad. I only walked in because I got coupons in the mail after moving here. My husband and I thought we should give it a try, not knowing what to expect. We had two coupons and planned on using both. The guy at the front was very friendly and was super helpful. He really knew his kolaches. I asked for suggestions and he went all out to help us pick. BTW the BBQ is amazing like he said. Anyway, it was time for us to pay and he said he couldnt take both coupons like most places usually do, so I said okay, we will split the order. My husband is one customer and I am another. He said no, it is only one coupon per household and that he would get in trouble if he takes both. He was very apologetic and I began to notice the other lady workers staring him down to not take my coupons. So I said loudly, "I dont understand why you cant do both with two separate purchases. How do you know we are from the same household? We could have met here for breakfast." He said sorry again and I felt bad because he was so kind and helpful and he was just following orders. We paid and used only one coupon and waited for our food. As we waited, i watched. The ladies kept going up to him whispering things in his ear in a scolding manner. We were the only people there and he was assigned to the front so he kept coming to the front. We kept talking to him and he finally said he just got in trouble for talking too much and they were making sure he didn't take 2 coupons. This really upset me since he was exactly what I expect to see from customer service and he was being scolded for it. On top of that, they were so adamant about not taking two coupons. Is your business really struggling that bad or are you just jerks? I came to the conclusion of the latter. If you don't want us using coupons, dont send them in the mail. But most importantly, treat your employees with respect and appreciate that he took care of his customers. When they saw him talk to us again, they sent him to the back and put another girl at the front. I was appalled. My husband made sure I didnt say anything to them then since it would probably get him in even more trouble, but I planned on writing a letter or review or something to let people know about this injustice. I will not be returning to this location.
IN RESPONSE TO REPLY: I am certain it was this location. It was more than 9 months ago, but I hesitated to post the review. It's too bad he is no longer there....
Read moreFood is great! Service is Amazing with one caveat, and I blame owners and corporate for not providing proper training in one area. When Kolache Factory sends out Text/SMS promotions; the staff NEVER is aware of them. They are great with promotions on back of store receipts like from HEB; but Kolache Factory Marketing and the Local Ownership get 0 stars for proper “deal or promotion training.” Naturally a 3 star review should get their attention but I’ve lived in the area for 10+ years and this is always the case. In 2023; Kolache Factory should send a deal code in their texts; or QR to make it easier on everyone versus “show deal to cashier”. As long as you don’t try to obtain a Kolache Factory promo, this place is awesome. Small constructive feedback; team should ask if we want salsa when ordering egg Kolaches; I drove back to get some without needing to check my bag, since I didn’t specify… Mainly because I was distracted explaining the Coupon Corporate sent via...
Read moreWe stopped by this Kolache Factory while our car was charging and needed something quick—and it turned out to be a great find. It was our first time trying kolaches, and honestly, we had a really good experience.
The service was friendly, and they were clear and upfront about which items had meat, which we appreciated. I do wish they had more halal or vegetarian options, but we still found some great choices. We got the potato, egg & cheese; the cream spinach (which was amazing—even my wife, who doesn’t like spinach, really enjoyed it); and the classic cheese kolache. Everything was warm, fresh, and hit the spot.
They warm the kolaches for you, which definitely adds to the experience, and the coffee was surprisingly good too—smooth and strong.
All in all, it wasn’t expensive, the service was great, and now we’re looking forward to trying other Kolache Factory locations. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area...
