Shake Shack The Boulevard — Restaurant in Town of Amherst

Busy. Had to wait outside before stepping into the restaurant. They have kiosks and registers open. We chose the register since we were paying in cash. The ladies behind the counter were nice, I could tell there was still some training or learning going on. I ordered chicken bites o and I asked for one of every sauce they had which they said they could do and one lady taught another how to add all of them. There were no sauces in the bag when I got my food, that's disappointing. I noticed when I left the restaurant and they were too busy to ask for sauces. Otherwise the food was fine. The mango lemonade is good. We ordered for take out so we didn't sit and eat. We stood off to the side of the kitchen waiting for our food to be handed to us when I looked down at the floor behind the counter and I just don't understand why there isn't someone running a broom twice an hour. You're serving food, it should be clean to the best of your ability. With atleast 12 staff members in the kitchen, it's important to have someone cleaning constantly. That is unacceptable. It's fast food but it's not cheap. I'm not blown away just because I've been to many other shake shacks. Be mindful that they do post their calories on their menu that is up on the wall. Check the calories before you order, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the speciality shakes were over 1k calories....

The service of this location is terrible. We ordered veggie shacks since we don't eat meat. When the order came it was beef patty. When I took order back to them, an apology was given stating that wrong order was put in. Then I was asked if I wanted refund to which I asked for correct order only. Once correct order was put in, the cashier asked me to pay again to which I stated that I have already paid once and returning the order since we don't eat meat and wrong order was given to me. She went and brought correct burgers but staff was arguing within why I was given order for free. I had informed the staff when I returned to them to inform them of this mishap that we are strictly vegetarian and don't eat meat at all, the looks I got despite their mistake was humiliating to say the least. I understand that due to high volume of customer staff might be overwhelmed and therefore I didn't created a scene and just asked for correct order but to receive looks like I was stealing their food for free was uncalled for while I had already paid once and returned the wrong order back to them. Update 9/27/25: Looks like I fell victim to the 25-30 minute wait times with lukewarm food. I got a single patty burger, onion rings, and tap water, and for nearly $17 this kind of quality isn't really acceptable. I don't think Shake Shack employees would want this kind of service or temperature of food. It's a shame because I'm the biggest cheerleader of the brand and its products, but this recent visit makes me want to take a step back from coming here and recommending it to my friends, family and coworkers.
