Homesense — Local services in Town of Amherst

Tried to return a defective item and they told me that they can only accept items that can go back on the shelf. I found out it was defective after opening the item & it was defective on 1st use. They wouldn't take it back. Ok, not awesome but ok. I had a similar item that I had not used yet, but I had already taken out of the package to wash. Decided I didn't want it because the 1st item was defective. These were brought back in less than a week with packaging and receipt. They wouldn't return the 2nd item either. I felt accused of already using it even though you could see it was never used. I will be thinking twice about buying anything here again. I like the store. I have gotten great things here. But if I can't return something defective, then that doesn't make me want to buy anything there just in case. This was a $10 order for both pieces. It wasn't like I was trying to get over on them. this place is trash, i wanted to return a couple of stuff and one of them was a big rug and they gave me such a hard time and she said that they have to open the rug when we didn't even open it and it was obvious that it wasn't open and the old woman called about 5 other women to "inspect it" and i wanted to return a hose that didn't even work and had a broken piece, the service was trash if i could give this place a zero stars i would, they made us wait 15 minutes, i even heard the old woman say that this is the first and last time were we'll do this and i saw a rug perfectly closed that someone returned and im a 100% sure they treated us like this just because we were wearing a hijab. IM NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN, AND I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND...

First time here. What a great store! You will find everything for your home, from furniture, to accessories, to art, to rugs, to lighting, to organizing, to decor, and on and on. This place is huge. It is well-lit, organized, and well-stocked. Their prices are great. They certainly are much lower than what you would find at a Canadian Winners or HomeSence. For example, bought a 41 x 24 framed canvas for $59 and 2 20 x 20 decorative pillows for $20 ea. This store is worth another trip back...
