Was debating whether or not I even wanted to post this, because part of me understood, but having thought on it, I figured it was worth it.
Yesterday (Good Friday) are 6:30, I called to place an order for a medium pizza, two fish fries (have been recommended this place for fish fries a few times), and a Greek chicken salad, and was told it would be an hour and a half wait. "No problem" I said, because being Good Friday, I figured they were swamped with Fish Fry orders. The problems started when I showed up at 8.
As I walked in, the bartender looked right at me as I approached the bar, but ended up looking away and going to the end of the bar where a group was already gathered....and proceeded to do 2 shots before finally coming over to me. Paid for the order, and was told "it should be out in a few, I'll call your name once it's ready", so I went and sat down. 20 minutes go by, and still nothing. So I get up to ask for an update, and the bartender (who hadn't left the bar) told me "they're boxing it up now, it'll be out in a minute", and it was still another 10 before it came out. Probably because there was a drunk girl who kept walking into the kitchen, singing songs and/or dancing, but who knows.
As for the food? Meh. The Greek chicken salad didn't have much chicken, the pita was stale, and instead of tzaziki? Sour cream. The pizza was borderline cold, despite having "just been finished". The fish fries were okay, but WAY too much batter, not enough tartar, and the fries were cold.
Definitely won't be returning here, at least not...

Read moreWe're Brits living in East Aurora. Since the sad demise of Parker's in South Buffalo as a walk in fish n chip shop we have scoured the region for fish fry to get our fish n chip fix.
This place serves a really, really good fish fry on a Friday evening. Great fish portions, decent amount of crispy fries. Some superfluous condiments such as tuna pasta salad and coleslaw. These are maybe German inventions but we tolerate them!
Malt vinegar is available at the table.
I love the service. The wait staff are ever so friendly. Before Covid we used to bring other Brits living in the area and guests from Old Blighty here and they all rated the Fish Fry as the best they've had State side.
We've also visited after a bar crawl with a bunch of Brits on a Saturday. It actually resembles a Brit Pub for atmosphere. Can get busy in the bar (pre Covid) and I recommend reserving a table as the wait time is often uptown an hour.
They had some ridiculous $12 sirloin steak and fries which was amazing! so well cooked. Finally they also serve a Beef on Weck pizza. Its something I love, something not loved by others but it, like most things on the menu is cheap!
Well worth...
