Went on a dinner date with my 9 yr old daughter on a Sunday evening. There were only three tables with patrons. Got the Thai soup and daughter the Miso. After placing the soups my daughter reached over to get soy sauce for the Shumi & the Miso spilled into her lap-ouch! The waitress was still at the table but she took the napkin on the table and wiped the table. She went back and got a cloth and continued to dry table. I had to ask her to go get napkins for my daughter so she can wipe/dry her lap!! I reassured my daughter that everything will be fine. Asked the waitress if could sit elsewhere but she had a puzzled look, Instead we just moved to the opposite end of table. Then the waitress asked if she wants another Miso soup- I said Yes and we continued. The food was good we had the Mango Topped specialty roll, pineapple fried rice and some 🍣. During the course I had to stop another waitress to get refill my tea and more napkins. The original waitress only came back to deliver food and remove empty plates. Requested the bill- paid with c card, put cash tip then something said to look at bill —they Charged me for 2 Miso soup! I asked her why “you asked for another one”. Granted it’s only $5 it’s the fact she charged me- We have all had meals/entrees that something happen and they remove it without question. So I took $5 out of the tip. I’m never petty but as minor as that was it was not the right thing to do as a restaurant! There are 4 other Japanese/Asian Fusion restaurants in the general area. Read moreI wish I could leave no stars because what was supposed to be a night out for a friend’s birthday turned into a very embarrassing experience. Upon arrival service was very slow while we waited to place our order. We noticed that people that arrived after us were already being served their food while we were still waiting for our drinks. A person from our group ordered a Japanese soda and when it was brought to the table, we informed the waitress that we would like a different flavor because of a strawberry allergy and the waitress seemed annoyed by our request and said that’s the only flavor they have. After our appetizers and entrees we ordered dessert and let the waitress know that it’s our friend’s birthday and that we’d like to order their chocolate cake. The waiters brought it out while WE sang happy birthday to our friend, they did not. Shortly after we paid our bill. The waitress then came to our table to ask if the service was good, we said it was fine. The manager then said that we didn’t leave a good enough tip for our bill of $200, the tip reflected the service we received. We adjusted the tip after being bullied by the manager when quite honestly we shouldn’t have left a tip. Such a disappointing experience.
Update: Upon looking at other reviews, this is their pathetic tactic of bullying patrons for a higher-than-deserved tip. Do not dine here, I’d much rather have fast food than give this establishment...
Read moreI don't know how this establishment managed to receive 4.5 stars rating because it is the least attentive and unprofessional establishment I have ever visited. Their customer service was not as friendly as it would be at other restaurants. We were greeted in an aggressive and unfriendly manner, and we had to wait a while before our food arrived after placing our order. Even after we received our food, they did not follow up with us to see how we were doing. As a server, you want to ensure that your clients are content and satisfied with the respectable service you provide. shortly after receiving the bill. After that, our server approached and inquired, "Was the service okay? ", remembering to do so in a condescending way, prior to everyone saying yes, she started to abruptly leave. We ought to have increased our tip as the manager drew near, as if we hadn't already left a respectable sum. basically pleading for more money. However, our server could have done more to ensure that we were happy with our serving. I'm really upset that a business like this has a 4.5 rating when it really deserves a 0 star rating and that they need to get their servers and attitude together. They must start being more understanding. If you don't want to be treated rudely, don't waste your time...
