Apparently this Papa John's location outsourced their delivery to Doordash recently. For 3 years I've always picked up my order from a real PJ driver. I've ordered 20 times and everything always went smoothly. But the experience I've had from PJ tonight was horrible.
First of all, the Papa John's system sent my driver the wrong address. I don't know whether the bug is Doordash's or PJ's fault. I always type in "400 Circle Road, Greeley College" on the PJ checkout page. But my driver received "100 Circle Road" instead and initially arrived on the other side of campus. I spent 30 minutes running around, trying to find his car. This process usually takes 2-5 minutes.
My driver didn't speak English well. That wouldn't be a problem if PJ sent their own driver and they actually had the right address the first time. No communication would've been necessary. But I had to try hard to get my DD driver to turn around and come back to the right building. It's not my driver's fault, but the fact that he struggled to communicate made the experience worse. Poor driver probably missed out on $15 of profit for 2-3 other orders he lost.
Papa John's as a company has been going downhill for 2 years. They must have decided to outsource their drivers instead of employing them to save $. This will be my LAST delivery order, ever, from PJ. Thank god I'll be leaving this college in 2 months. After that, I'm not going to order from any PJ store anywhere.
The quality of your food has never been the best, Papa John's, but you had me as a customer since your service has at least been convenient. Not anymore. You're going to miss out on $3200 of revenue. That's $20 per order, 8 orders per year, for 20 years. That doesn't even count the people who I'll tell...
Read moreI prefer to pick up my food rather than have it delivered. The Staff is always super friendly and a pleasure to interact with. The food is a 9 out of 10 only because of the way it is manufactured. Don't get me wrong, it does taste good. It's just that the pizzas are "soft and doughy" compared to a regular pizza place. The Chicken Poppers are something between a McDs nugget and a Chicken Finger.
The pies are VERY small. Papa John's Extra Large pie is still a little smaller than a standard Large pizza anywhere else. Typically, two of their "Large" slices usually equal about 1 Large slice at a pizza restaurant. It is good though. Different, but good.
Lastly, unless you order through the App or carryout at the store, the prices are grossly high. That goes for everything. Not just the pies. I use the App, I am a Papa Rewards Subscriber and I pick up my own food all to save money.
I gave 3 stars because you do have to do a lot to be able to afford their prices and the food is just good enough to enjoy. I think I order from them about once every two months. That's because my youngest Daughter prefers Papa John's over a...
Read moreI received an incorrect item on my order. When i called to let them know, i was told the driver would come to swap out the item. When the driver arrived he did not have the missing item but still took the incorrect one. When i called the store back i was told that i should have them. I asked for a refund and was told that they would remake it and send a new one over. After finally getting the manager to agree to refund the item, she told me it would just take a moment and then hung up the phone. When i called back i was told that the person on the phone had to talk to the manager, however, when i asked to speak to the manager myself i was told they were the manager. Finally, the order got refunded but this was a terrible customer...
