So I wanna start off by saying how much I love Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse.. we spend a lot of money There are very regular. Dine in and out. . We spend hundreds of dollars a month eating here ..

We went there for Valentine’s Day dinner , we had to wait about 10 minutes for a seat , which was expected because I know it was a holiday and We did not have a reservation ; that was fine.

Our problem begins with being seated, for over 30 minutes the waiter passed us multiple times and did not even acknowledge us. . . I had to flag him down and tell him we’ve been sitting here for over a half an hour and have not even been asked for a drink order yet. He was annoyed and abruptly took the drink order. For some reason he was the only waiter on the entire dine inside, which was absolutely despicable. He came back with the drinks a few minutes later and we ordered food. I asked for halved mushrooms and he told me while laughing he is not the cook.. I ordered this every time weve gone, and I’ve never been treated like an idiot the way this guy treated me

When The food finally came out (about 45 min later) every single item was ice cold like It had just came out of a refrigerator. . Tim went up and alerted the owner and was scoffed at and given the back of his head.. so we left .. almost 2 hours and we now had to go get Valentine’s Day dinner at 830 at night elsewherere which totally ruined our evening plans . .

We went to Zona , and were in and out in 30 minutes even as busy as they were , served hot food and waited on appropriately.

I am absolutely appalled at the behavior of the owner , lack of preparation and overall experience. Multiple couples who were sitting around us also heavily annoyed with the same lack of service had the same exact issue. So it was NOT just us. .

You would think for such a busy holiday they would have had multiple waiters on staff or perhaps closed their Uber orders because there were dozens of those people standing there waiting to pick up also ..

100% beyond infuriated with this experience and to top it off, i messaged their Facebook to describe all of this TWICE and was ignored even though they’re register posting and have since posed there and the messages Were read . they clearly do not care about...

i have loved wasabi forever but the service has gone EXTREMELY downhill. my boyfriend and i went here for lunch at noon, when we were seated there was only one other couple in the dining area, service started off nice before the waiter became extremely annoyed at us for no reason and extremely dismissive. my boyfriend asked for fried rice instead of white rice and they didn’t give him any and they didn’t ask him how he wanted his beef teriyaki cooked (even though they always do). my boyfriend finished his shirley temple and the waiter shows up with a sprite and then asks him if he wants a shirley temple to which he says ā€œyes pleaseā€ the waiter then gets annoyed and when giving him his refill made the drink 90% grenadine and 10% sprite and said ā€œno moreā€ while handing it to him. the waiter gave us our salads (with no utensils) and never gave us our soup and he disappeared so we were unable to ask him for any. the next time we saw our waiter was when another waitress grabbed our food that was sitting on a counter for 10 minutes bc he had failed to bring it to us and the waitress proceeded to give our food to other people. our waiter then grabbed our food and gave it to us along with a bill that didn’t belong to us. when getting our food it was ice cold, we still had no utensils until i caught him before he disappeared again to ask which he was clearly annoyed about. my boyfriends meat was extremely undercooked and rubbery. i would understand these mishaps if they were extremely busy but there was 4 tables of people and 2...

Went a couple months ago...not a great experience. Sat down with a large group, most wanted the advertised all-you-can-eat sushi but some of the kids wanted hibachi. Waiter tells us no, everyone at the table has to order the all-you-can-eat in order to get it. We went there specifically for the sushi...called the manager over who said it was ok, as long as we separated the tables. Ok...I assume they were concerned we were going to feed the kids the sushi. Waiter was nasty to us the rest of the night. Mixed up some of the kids' dinners, then tried to pour food from one kid's plate to another's to correct the mistake after he had already started eating it. Bizarre. Food was decent, but staff are not so friendly.

Wanted to give them a second chance, so I went with wife and 2 kids this time thinking with just the four of us they would be ok with kids wanting hibachi, and the wife and I wanting all-you-can-eat sushi. They said no, everyone had to order the same thing. Place was not that busy, but I guess they'd rather lose the $150 than risk unauthorized sushi consumption. I left and went to another place down the road. Shame, as the...

I’ve been to this restaurant a good amount of times over the years. After a couple visits I started noticing some things now that my children are a bit older and I can actually relax when we go out to eat.šŸ˜… Service was fine, no issue there. Hibachi area is just plain dirty. The plates, the utensils, the counters and grills. The cook doesn’t even clean/wipe down the grill before he starts cooking, only after he’s done cooking. The food wasn’t portioned properly to each customer’s plate and food had little to no seasonings, I’ve had much better tasting food at other hibachi restaurants. At our most recent visit we saw bugs crawling on the counter where we were seated, probably burning to a crisp as they crawled closer to the hot grill. My children and I definitely won’t be returning to this restaurant but I figured I’d share my honest opinions with you all. 😊

My Alaska roll smelt fishy, it was also missing the avocado. I asked for the wifi and was directed to use the free wifi on the street until I was the given their password. I went back in to use the bathroom and was asked if I ate my lunch yet. Turns out they gave me someone else's order. What someone who seemed to be the manager was questioning me on why I ate it. They were not pleasant as they were failing miserabley in pretend to be. I hope you avoid this place and my fingers are crossed that the fish was just fishy and not unkempt. This is my first 1 star review on any restaurant. Here's my recipe so this review isn't taken down

Wasabi in Miller Place has incredible sushi, top-tier hibachi, and a fun, lively atmosphere—but the real reason I keep coming back is Gary. From the moment you walk in, whether you're new or a regular, Gary treats you like family. His energy, warmth, and eccentric charm make the entire place feel like a second home. Yes, the food is consistently amazing—fresh, flavorful sushi and unbeatable hibachi entertainment—but it’s Gary who makes the experience unforgettable. Wasabi isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a reflection of his heart, and that’s what truly sets it apart. Thank you Gary for everything that you do!
