I really couldn’t make this story up if I tried. I just went on a first/blind date to Wildcat. Pro tip: Wildcat is legit the best spot for a first date. It’s super chill, none of the pressures of a sit down place or obnoxious environment of some bars. Anyways, we go to order our food. we can order separate which is great. Don’t have to worry about that awkward moment when the bill comes. So I order my meal. I ask for a “chef salad”. Once the salad arrived it appears to not be the salad “I ordered”. Well turns out I ordered the wrong thing! My mistake, I wanted the julienne salad! Not chef salad. I think the young girl running the food didn’t really know what to do. So she says she will ask her manager. I follow her up to the counter and see the exchange- obviously don’t know what was said but the convo seemed like the manager was cool, which anyone who’s worked in the industry knows asking a kitchen manager to remake something can be a terrifying thing lol. The worker comes back looking relieved and said the manager said yes I could just remake it. I thought awesome, this place is great. Well next my date gets his food. Welp turns out he ALSO ordered the wrong thing. (Couldn’t make this up!) They probably thought we were running some kind of scam but low and behold they just remade that too without hassle or looking annoyed. I was just really impressed that whole thing didn’t turn into a disaster. Food was great too , get the pizza. I don’t know if I’ll see the guy again but I’ll sure be coming back to the...

We are fans of Trappers pizza, but since they are on the east side of Syracuse and we live in the west side, we don't get there very often. So, we were happy to learn in a recent review published by our local newspaper that The Wildcat had the same recipes used by Trappers. We visited the restaurant at our first opportunity and ordered a large pizza with four toppings. The first bites were very reminiscent of Trapper's pizza. However, we soon noticed that the bottom crust was not only limp but soggy. This may have been a problem due to the toppings we ordered. I'm sure the roasted red peppers and mushrooms released liquid as they cooked and this may have overloaded the crust. The sauce, cheese, two vegetables, and pepperoni were delicious, but we found the sausage strange tasting and used a fork to remove it from our pizza. Overall, it was a very tasty pizza and very filling. We took half of it home. However, the experience was not as enjoyable as it might have been because of the noise level. I've been assured that this was an exception to the normal, and we will return. The...

UPDATE: thanks for cleaning the kitchen and sticking by your word in the response, I appreciate it. My final thoughts are this; this restaurant has been steadily finding their footing since mid 2010's and it is a good pub for the community. The pizza is decent especially with such stiff competition in the area. people definitely tend to dine-in and stay for the unapologetic school spirit vibe, sports broadcasts with extroverted immersion, and the consistent events they host. I would 100% rather eat here compared to Buffalo Wild Wings. As a customer (and wg alumni) who only walks in and out I am completely unbothered by most of this. the tv menus flipping by so quickly does make it difficult to find out what you want to buy without opening up an online menu on my phone

overall: it's a decent sports bar that prioritizes ny style pizza with good lunch deals

Original Review: dust clumped everywhere above the kitchen on the rafters and hvac, probably hasn't been cleaned in a year...

This is one of the best stromboli I've had in a while. It's stuffed with fresh onions, peppers, pepperoni, sausage and good mozzarella that's stringy. And it came with two cups of sauce for dipping. It cost $10. They have a u-serve soda fountain, and great beer selection- but I was there during work lunch break... They had five various types of pizza cut in slices and garlic knots - ready to heat and eat, or take to go. This stromboli and sandwiches were being freshly made to order. Other customers were walking in and grabbing to-go orders. I will definitely be going back to try more things that they offer. Good service and food- enjoy!

It’s funny that After 4 years living here, this is my first visit and won’t be my last. I went out on trivia night, it was a blast! The beer selection is a great variety of high quality beers. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. And the fries are some sort of monster curly cue fries that I have never seen. The sandwich was great with smothered cheese and a sauce with just enough bite. I was told that the philly cheese steak is good and my buddy got a slice of pizza that looked good. I will order that next time.
