I recently discovered "Lulu's" after coming from too many Dentist and Doctors appts in West Nyack over these past 3 weeks....... While some of those appts required fasting for blood work or ultrasounds, I was starving by the time I arrived at Lulu's, and that 'Farmers Scramble', and 'Whole Grain Chunky Monkey Pancakes' were unbelievable!! So fresh and satisfying with some leftover for another meal! Big portions........ But what hooked me on Lulu's was not only the delicious food (especially breakfast) and the great old-fashioned country cafe atmosphere with 50's music playing; it was the caring and compassionate service from Debbie...... I first went to Lulu's after Dental surgery down the street, stumbled into Lulu's in severe pain and swollen face and all I wanted was a chocolate shake to feel better...... Debbie was so kind to make me a REAL ice cream chocolate shake and as I tried to eat it with a novacaine numbed mouth, she put it in a to-go cup for me so I could head home...... And I got the carrot cake cupcake to go and the homemade banana pudding for the time when I was able to eat - and it sure tasted great at midnight that night! So because of Debbie's caring service, I've been back every week - last week after another dental surgery, I tried the stuffed banana and peanut butter French Toast thinking it was nice and mushy and comforting..... OMGosh - it was sooooo delicious! And they put some fresh strawberries and blackberries with powdered sugar on it - it was unbelievable! Hit the spot! And their Chai Latte Tea is made with love đ So I know I've gone on too long, but this place is my favorite spot because not only is ALL the food excellent, they serve it up with love from Debbie!! Thanks...
Read moreA lovely quaint cafe on West Nyack Road looked inviting. The location has been a restaurant under many name for a long time. Lulu's is the latest, quite frankly, a disappointment...1st the good, covid virus procedures were followed with masks and cleaning. The waitress was busy and polite; but the food was a disappointment. I ordered the soul special of the day, squash soup and coffee, both were at best far from hot. My wife's casadia cheese was cold, my daughters sweet potato fries were far from crisp, and the tuna melt was also like war. Almost like all the foo sat under a warming lamp.. A Disapoontmemt...and lunch for 3 was $ 34 and change. I would have expected better food. Oh yes, pick a warmer day to have lunch,,,as every time the door open the small room cooled of...
Read moreService was awful waited fifteen minutes before getting up to get our own menus, nobody came over to greet us for quite a while. Food took forever to come out and when it did it was cold. Cheese in both omelets was not melted, toast was cold and had no butter. Cream on the table was all covered in old dried coffee/butter was just generally disgusting. Nobody ever checked on us and we had to repeatedly ask for refills on coffee/tea/water etc. Overall a terrible experience and sadly it used to be a great restaurant but I now remember why I stopped coming here.
**Edit: just wanted to come back and point out the the owners have not addressed a single negative review on here. Yet continually respond to...
