The three stars are for the great and friendly staff, and decent selection of craft beer. I had the mojito, and it was just ok, not sure their recipe is a true mojito (muddled mint and lime). It tasted like club soda and simple syrup, no mint or lime. The pretzel twist was hot and soft, but the beer cheese looked like it came out of a can and didn't taste like anything. I got the Nash flatbread, I wasn't too impressed. The flatbread itself was good. But there was just too much on it that didn't really go together. It needed less cheese, more chicken, less pickles, less drizzle of whatever white dressing, and a the hot sauce was just ok. I have had lots of Nashville hot chicken dishes so I was excited to get it but I could only eat a few slices.
I get that they probably don't have a full kitchen to serve real dishes and it's a satellite location, but I've had much better food from places like Buried Acorn who doesn't have a kitchen either. The food is just really balanced well and there are lots of choices of different kinds of sandwiches, flatbreads, and apps.
Unfortunately, we probably won't go back unless it's just to have a beer with friends who want to go. Otherwise there are lots of better...
Read moreUnfortunately the selection is not nearly as good/varied as the prior establishment’s. I get it- IPAs are popular but do they have to be 2/3s of what’s offered? And really- four different lagers? There are many that drink stouts and porters year-round and not as a winter novelty. Only 1 dark offering??? You can do better than that. I feel I must add the following. On our last visit the lady working the bar said she was called in from the main location to cover for someone that no called/no showed. From other comments/reviews it seems this is a regular occurence- a revolving door for staffing. That means one of two things- or both. You're either hiring the wrong people or you're managing them poorly. Hint here- try hiring more capable people and less...
Read moreVisited HHN tonight for the 3rd time since they opened in N. Syracuse. Cannot say enough about it. We love the Pompey location, but it’s quite a drive for us. The beers are excellent. The menu is limited; however, the selections they offer are tasty! You can order via scan code at your table or at the bar in person. We have a disdain for the scan code as it reminds us of COVID days, but have no fear because the bar staff is attentive and is ready and willing to take your order, refill your beers and offer friendly conversation - thank you Amy!! We were offered a trial appetizer, pretzel w/dill pickles and dill dip; it was YUMMY!! We’ll be back. Great location, great beer, community...
