We would like to give this place a hundred stars out of the 5! We are back home in Fairport, NY (Rochester) enjoying their amazing chicken cutlets. We were in New Rochelle visiting my mom and other relatives and someone had recommended the cutlets from San Fratello's. Stopped in on Saturday to buy a bunch and, while there, decided we'd be back the next day to get dinner for mom's birthday. She wanted Eggplant Parm... mind you, my mother has always made THE best eggplant in the world but at age 94, we're having her take it easy! So, when I called, I found out they don't usually make up plates of "Daily specials" food on Sunday but when the sweet, smart daughter of the owner found out who was on the phone ("Mom, it's that lady from yesterday with her mother's birthday" - I had mentioned we'd be calling), next thing I know, mom and dad are preparing the eggplant just for her! And it was the best we've ever had outside of my mom's! We also ordered some delicious wedge sandwiches for traveling... mmm, the Al Pacino, for one, is to die for. Please, do yourself a favor, Run, don't walk to San Fratello's and make it a regular thing! The food is great and this delightful and kind owner family is...
Read moreI noticed this place because they often have a sign out front that says they have chopped cheese, which is one of my favorite things. If they keep putting it on a sign, I figured they must have a really good one so I wanted to try it. I was really disappointed. :( the sandwich I got was some kind of sliced beef with cheese — not a chopped up hamburger. It also had no lettuce, tomato, mayo or ketchup, which pretty much always come on a chopped cheese. It was just a dry beef and cheese sandwich. :( I also grabbed a pack of Italian cookies — I ate one and the sprinkles on it tasted like pink food coloring. It left a chemical taste in my mouth for like a half hour. I spent $30 here including a 20% tip, and I threw everything away. So disappointing, because it looks like they have some pretty good food, and they have great reviews. Hopefully it was just a mistake, but the place is too expensive for me to want...
Read moreGreat food and service. My favorites are the breakfast sandwiches, followed closely by the paninis and wraps. You can get hot food to go (changes daily). They also carry a small selection of specialty Italian grocery items. The coffee isn't fancy, but their regular coffee is so good. They have a catering menu as well. There is no place inside to sit and eat. In the warmer months there are usually a couple of tables outside. These guys are the neighborhood spot you...
