The Burrito Poblano — Restaurant in Town of Eastchester

I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but tonight, the way I was treated by a waiter named Aaron calls for it. First off, we were greeted and seated by the sweetest lady named Rocio, I thought she would be the only one to wait on us. Me and my friend Justin are looking through the menu trying to decide whether we would have tacos or a quesadilla, Aaron comes over with the rudest and most disrespectful attitude and tells us if we are going to order that he is not going to wait all night. I asked if he was joking, and he gave me the dirtiest look. Rocio comes over to check on us and I tell her what Aaron had just said and she was immediately embarrassed and apologized, I told her that I think he's joking, I could tell by her facial expression and reaction that she knew he wasn't joking. She takes our order and I politely asked if they could play a song by the Famous Mexican singer #VicenteFernandez and she said sure, Aaron immediately comes over to our table and immediately said that if I'm "DOMINICAN" and that if I think that I'm in that country that they are not playing loud party music that that restaurant does not play that type of music because the location of the restaurant was predominantly "WHITE"!!!! MIND YOU THE SONG I REQUESTED WAS A BALLAD! A SONG CALLED "SI NUESTRO AMOR SE ACABA" BY #VicenteFernandez! I proceeded to tell him that the song I am requesting is not LOUD and I asked why would he automatically assume that I am "DOMINICAN"? He claimed that he was from PERU which by the way, ROCIO confirmed that he was lying, and he claimed to not know who #VicenteFernandez WAS. Another lie debunked by his coworker. He automatically assumed that I was not from around there, saying verbatim "you are not from this area this is a "WHITE" neighborhood. Mind you there were ethnic people dining a table away. I don't know what this guy's problem is, but his behavior was extremely prejudice, disrespectful, discriminatory and downright hateful. I was so upset that I cried. Aaron if you see this, LEARN HOW TO ACT! YOU CLEARLY DON'T KNOW HOW TO BEHAVE IN A DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENT! GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE! AND HOW DO THEY HAVE THIS GUY WORKING...

Had been here for a meal with coworkers some time ago and had ordered take away a couple of times. So this review is overdue. This time was dinner with family. We ordered a couple of empanadas (ground beef and chipotle chicken) and street corn to start. I really liked the flavor of the chipotle chicken even though it was a bit on the drier side. Ground beef empanada was good as well. Everyone really liked the street corn. It was a bit acidic for my taste, but still very good. For mains we ordered a couple of burrito enchiladas - one steak and one chicken. The person who ordered the steak said is was amazing and thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the pastel azteca - basically Mexican lasagna made with masa, chicken, corn and poblano peppers. It was different than anything else, in terms of Mexican food, that I've had before. There was a bit of heat, but most people should be able to manage it. We got the churros for dessert - fresh and very good as well and came with a chocolate dipping sauce. My family is a longtime customer of Burrito Poblano. We love the staff at the register, enjoy the food, but experience tremendous disrespect from a man who claims to be the manager and owner, when our first ever Doordash order arrived with two items missing.

I immediately called the restaurant and was accused me of being a liar, saying the items were packed. Then manager, who I was speaking with accused doordash of stealing parts of our food. I know that could not be true because the bags we received were tightly knotted and looked untampered.

After a 15 minute conversation, including two customers who were missing food, we ended up going to the restaurant to pick up the items, but were never apologized to. The house staff was very uncomfortable because they know us so well, and were surprised the by the managers tone towards a loyal customer.

We have reached out to doordash who have been apologetic, and supportive among this frustration. Sad to say we lost a great spot, due to the very disrespectful...
