We went there for dinner on Saturday the 29th around 5-6pm. We got in and were told it would be about a 30 minute wait. Ok no big deal so we wander over to the bar to see if we can have some drinks until then. We notice that all of the tables by the bar (maybe 10-12) were empty so we asked the women at the front if we could sit and have drinks there while we wait the 30 minutes. They say no as those were for seating food order guests. Half of the dining room had empty tables as well so we weren’t sure why the wait was going to be a half good but whatever. So we go sit in the car and in total it takes about 45 minutes for us to be seated. Our chips and salsa are brought out and drinks are ordered (both delicious). Then our food order was taken and that was the last time we saw our waiter until we had to pay. Someone else brought out our food which is fine but our waiter didn’t come to check on us one time. When our food came mine was missing the chorizo that was supposed to come with it and I wanted to ask him about it but no luck. We got done eating and we’re just sitting there waiting for a bill and some boxes. After like 15 minutes I flagged a different waiter down and asked him to call our waiter over and he did in his ear piece. I see our waiter in a different section talking to which I assume are his friends as he’s laughing and sipping on their drink. Another 10 minutes go by and I flag down another waitress and ask again for our waiter as we want to leave. Finally about 5 minutes after that he comes over and we were able to cash out and go. (He tells me my meal did have chorizo they just don’t put a lot in there. They didn’t put ANY in there but at this point I was annoyed and wanted to just leave.) Over all the food was average, what you’d expect at any Mexican restaurant. The rice was a little bland. I was bummed about missing the chorizo and the waiter needs some re training. Probably won’t go back to this location...
Read moreA decent Mexican restaurant. It has very tasty food and decent service. I really do enjoy going here but there are some problems. These problems include a consistent service ; inconsistent food temperatures; highest noise levels, especially during a quote" birthday or Margarita special.. So let me explain first. One inconsistent service. Sometimes have gone there with my wife and other people and we've had absolutely impeccable service. Other times you're forgotten for a good 20 meds. Finally get a beverage and finally gets a way there or a way to trust to ask us what we want. Totally inconsistent. The next problem food quality generally prepared beautifully. It looks wonderful. Everything looks perfect. The problem here though is I order enchiladas my brother-in-law orders enchiladas my brother-in-law's are cold. Mine are perfectly heated next time( the last time was the exact opposite. His were perfectly heated and mine were cold as refrigerated enchiladas could be. My final issue is how loud is I mean insufferably loud. The celebration gets for somebody's birthday and somebody's ordering of a margarita. I don't mind a celebration here and there but they blast the music so hard and I mean the recording of music that you can't talk. You can't do anything but stop and listen to the whole thing Go on. It's a wonderful gimmick but it's not conducive to a nice, pleasant visit.
I only knocked off one star because all in all we can go there. You get good food. Good service and a smile. It's just those bad days that take away from it and the fourth star out of five is only because I want the owners to understand they have to be better with...
Read moreIf you like large quantities of bland food and weak drinks in an environment too loud to hear your tablemates, this is the place for you. Went here tonight on the recommendation of a friend. Questioning that relationship now. Ordered one house margarita and one with guava....there is an undisclosed upcharge for flavors, as an FYI. They tasted like they were made with the essence of tequila....meaning someone waved a tequila bottle over the glasses rather than pour. Even the plain house was almost all sugar, no sour. The empinadas were the lone good part of the meal, served with a warm tomatillo sauce. The salsa and red sauces make ketchup seem spicy by comparison. The cheese quesadilla was all salty cheese...soggy and flat. Tried the burrito tricolor to get a taste of three meats (steak, chicken, carnitas). Do not order this. The steak was a tough, gristly hunk of flank with no seasonings...it was so tough, the kitchen was clearly unable to dice it before stuffing as it came out in one big hunk. The chicken and pork were identical in taste and texture....soggy shreds of little flavor. While the portions were generous, the lack of quality made it seem overpriced. If you are there and looking for Mexican, go a few doors down in the same plaza. Neither of us felt well after the meal, and we both eat...
