I brought my phone in to have the screen replaced. Needed to have this service done about a year ago as well and was disappointed to find that the overall customer experience has dropped off significantly, since the asurion acquisition. To start - all of the staff I worked with was understanding and apologetic regarding the situation. This review in no way reflects the service received from them. However, I found it unacceptable that it took WEEKS just to order the correct part for my repair. When I brought my phone in, I advised the employee that it was a Motorola One, 5G device. He took a look at the phone itself, as well as the details in my phones settings to ensure they ordered the correct part. He explained there are variations of the phone and he wanted to make sure they got it correct. I paid my deposit and was told the part should be in within 3-5 days. Two days later I received a call asking me to return to the store so they could verify the correct part prior to ordering. Apparently it's on the expensive end as far as screens go so they wanted to be sure it was correct. So - 2 days in and the part still hadn't been ordered yet. I asked them if they could pull the work order from when I had the screen replaced a year ago and use those specs, it's the same exact phone. They assured me that would work and they would proceed that way. A few days later when the part arrived, I brought my phone in for the repair and was told 2-3 hours. An hour later, I received notification that there was an issue with the repair and I needed to contact them. Come to find out, after all that, the incorrect part was ordered!! So I returned to pick up my phone, screen still bleeding, and was told that they weren't going to put the back all the way onto my device so that it would be easier to open up again once the correct part arrived. I was once again told it would be in within 3 days. Five days later I called to find out if there was an ETA on the part as I hadn't heard anything. The employee who answered had no idea when it would be arriving. He explained that after asurion bought out ubreakifix, they took over ordering of all of the parts. Those in the store had no control over what was ordered or when it would arrive. I could hear in his voice how frustrating it was to be at the mercy of asurion in situations like this. A few days later the screen did arrive, and the rest of the repair went smoothly. They offered $20 off in recognition of all of the issues and delays, which was appreciated. Overall, if there was an option of somewhere else to take my phone for this issue, I would have taken that option. Having to wait weeks and make multiple trips back and forth is frustrating and disrespectful of the customers time. I do hope this is something that is addressed at the corporate...
Read moreThe first time I went here, about a year ago. I walked right in. A small woman walked up to me. I told her my aux port was damaged so she took my phone into the back.
She returned about 10 min later, told me I was all set... I was astonished! "what do you mean? It was that simple? Can I tip you or something?" She was so great to me, explained that all she had to do was open my phone and pull my aux port out and It was fine. She was so great in fact that when the same problem started to happen, I decided I was going to come back to the store.
Before I entered the store I looked at the front. There were 3 younger guys outside in front of the store smoking some cigs. I start to approach with another person and they stop what they are doing and go in, one was kind enough to hold the door for me. The guy went into the back room and came out with a recipt and informed the customer that they switched the charger port on the wrong phone. So hers was still broken, she would have to come in the next day or try and rearrange her schedule because of the mixup. (She handled the disheartening news soooo much better than I would have to be honest).
My turn, I explained that something pushed in my aux port. He returned 15 min later saying that the part would not be possible to find. I informed him of my last experience using the same Samsung s8 active, where the kind woman simply opened my phone and fixed it. He told me that he would need to use a sottering iron to fix it and then offered to get his manager. That's where I respectfully declined and left.
That was my experience. It left kind of a bad taste in my mouth, the kid was nice, I just dont think he really had an idea what he was doing. Perhaps too many smoke breaks on a beautiful day.
Maybe the problem is the training that the employees receive isnt as extensive as it could be. I felt like me and the customer in front of me were just fed some jargon To move us a long, and neither one of us...
Read moreGreat employees, knowledgeable, friendly and fast service. Definitely recommend going here if you need something fixed.
My experiences- I first found this place by googling who replaces cell phone batteries. I have a Nexus 6P so they had to order a battery because they don't keep those in stock. Paid half down (or I could have left my phone). A week later I received a text saying the part I ordered was in. I dropped my phone off for a couple hours, came back and it was good as new.
A few months later I came here again because I needed a replacement charger port. Had to wait for the part to be ordered again, so a week later I dropped my phone off in the afternoon and came back a few hours later after running errands.
Phone charged ok with a USB to USB-C cord but didn't charge at all with USB-C to USB-C cord. I thought maybe because my cord was old it wasn't working anymore so I ordered a new one. After the new one arrived it still didn't charge. I headed back to the store and explained my problem. The USB to USB-C would charge my phone, but super slowly, about 3% an hour.
They fixed the charger port under warranty with no issue.
They're also honest. While waiting in line, the guy in front of me thought he shattered his screen and was going to get a replacement. The employee looked at the phone and then pulled off the screen protector. The customer had no clue there was even a protector on there. And his screen was completely fine! A+...
