A must stop in the Southtowns and by far one of my favorite local gems. This is the best breakfast and lunch comfort food that you could ever ask for. This female owned and run business will knock your socks off with their hospitality, menu options, portion size and flavor combinations. This spot would be Hamburg’s own feature on Guy Fiere’s Diners, Drive- ins and Dives. Make sure you come hungry because you will still be stuffed past the time you should be eating your next meal.
The first thing you will notice besides the amazing aromas are the huge chalkboards filled with daily specials on the walls. The specials are novelty versions of every breakfast item you can think of from sweet to savory. Specialty items like seasonal fruits, nuts, Nutella and cheesecake stuffing are commonly used items on this board for pancakes, waffles and French toast. Savory egg based specials feature ingredients such as premium cheeses, fresh veggies and upgraded meats like chorizo and corned beef. Now a lot of people don’t realize that in addition to a ton of specials there is also a standard breakfast menu covers the classics like pancakes, waffles, French toast, breakfast meats, hash browns, egg dishes and more by including a ton of scramble and omelette combos. Lunch options include salads, soups, burgers, wraps, melts and paninis. A tip for lunch first timers is that Savory’s has won the Buffalo Soup fest multiple times so trying some is a must. A huge perk is that they stock gluten free bread and can accommodate requests to utilize ingredients from the specials board. They are happy to substitute the gluten free bread in for any breakfast or lunch item. Some of my favorite items to indulge in are farm house hash, gluten free French toast varieties and the Cuban panini with sweet potato fries.
On the weekends there is often a full house. No need to worry, there are indoor and outdoor seating options and the tables turn quickly. The servers are attentive, helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. If you are avoiding indoor dining or don’t want to wait they also offer take out. I have placed large orders in the past and the order comes out correct, hot, fresh...
Read moreThe food is delicious. A week ago I would've given them 5 stars. Today however my mom came in alone AFTER peak hours and wasn't greeted. No one was in line, there's no sign saying wait, sit nothing. So my mom having not been greeted by a single waitress sits at an open and clean table. When she does a waitress finally comes over and informs her that they are seating from a list. My mom wouldn't have sat if someone ANYONE would've come over and asked her, informed her whatever. The waitress then seats her at a dirty table, that still has someone else's dirty dishes on the the table. My boyfriend and I join her after about 10 minutes and when we get there the table still had not been wiped clean, the dishes hadn't been taken away and no waitress not menus had come over. I was disgusted not only with the blatant disregard for my mother but the very cavalier attitude the waitresses all take in general. I've only ever had an outstanding experience with one. Any other restaurant would not get away with treating a customer the way Savory's treated my mother this morning. The waitress that was rude to my mother would have been fired and our meal would've been free. The only reason I didn't bring up my grievance this morning immediately is because my mother is too polite and too proud to allow me to cause a scene which is what I would've done had she not stopped me. Go for the food, don't go for...
Read moreDuring our visit to the Savoy Family Restaurant, Jane, our server, made the experience truly memorable. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable.
Two of my boys ordered the Oreo pancakes, and they were a hit. Fluffy and packed with Oreo goodness, they were a delightful treat for them. Another one of my boys opted for an egg sandwich, and it looked fantastic with perfectly cooked eggs and fresh ingredients.
As for my choice, I decided to try the spinach and feta omelet with chicken. While the combination sounded appealing, I found the omelet to be a bit on the dry side. Perhaps it needed a touch more moisture or a sauce to enhance the overall flavor.
Despite my omelet being a bit dry, I must say that Jane's outstanding service overshadowed any minor culinary hiccups. She was attentive to our needs, ensuring our drinks were always topped up and even suggesting some menu options for our next visit. Her warmth and professionalism added to the pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant.
Considering the excellent service provided by Jane and the tempting options on the menu, I look forward to returning to the Savoy Family Restaurant. Next time, I'll take Jane's recommendation and try either the egg sandwich or the Eggs Benedict for a potentially more satisfying...
