Feeling bold about your next dining choice? Look no further than this rare gem, El Gauchito 3, an Argentinian steakhouse in heart of the South Shore of Long Island. Having dined at El Gauchito 2 in Queens, I expected the same quality and service at their newest branch. It didn't disappoint. The ambiance imparts a casual dining experience with its modest storefront and interior space. Noise from piped-in music and 2 large parties celebrating birthdays was medium level, not to the point that it's hard to carry on a conversation. Let's get to the reasons one should try this restaurant - food and drinks. We were greeted with complimentary warm bread and provolone slices stuffed with ham. That they were delicious made it more of a welcome surprise. We started off with an amazing cocktail called Peach Fire. For appetizers, we picked mussels in garlic sauce and grilled sweetbread (in plain English cow's glands), both definite crowd pleasers for their exotic, complex flavors. The friendly waitress recommended the 3 meat plate which my wife and I ordered. It turned out to be the star of the night. The short rib, skirt steak and sausage were perfectly grilled, brimming with that fresh off-the-grill taste. A side order of tostones complemented the rich taste of the meat. We did not try any of the desserts that were featured in a very expansive menu. We are excited to return to this fine establishment and explore the remainder of the menu. It deserves its rightful place in my regular rotation of...
Read moreI’ve been here once before and had a great experience during a weeknight happy hour. However, the last time I visited this past Saturday evening the service gave me second hand embarrassment. It was the bartender Carolina who made this experience trash. Everyone one else was nice and accommodating as they could be. Carolina took our order with an attitude, pushed an upsell on us which we were fine with, although it wasn’t what we wanted only to ignore us and never check on us for the rest of the evening- despite the fact we were sitting right in front of her in the middle of the bar. i politely asked to change one of the tvs to the Mets game she claimed she had to ask the boss and walked away. 30 min later when another table asked to change the tv it was done instantly. Also requested to hear some latin music, considering the setting, and she passive aggressively changed that as well 10 mins later with an eye roll after telling me she can’t play reggaeton (which i didn’t ask for but i guess she was assuming). these were the ONLY interactions we had with her, otherwise she actively avoided us. at the end of the night, she put a 20% auto gratuity for 3 people at the bar. not sure if that’s customary here but the 3 of us work in the service industry and have never seen that. I’d only come back on the days she’s not here. I originally was going to make a video to post across my social media accounts but i rather not recommend this location if this is how patrons...

Delicious food and friendly atmosphere. Don't be fooled by the full size bar area, because it is not just a place to get booze but a really great sit down restaurant. We had the Rib eye and had it cooked medium well and I can say it was perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection ( not dry and just a teeny bit of pink on the inside) and it was so tender you can just use your fork to cut it. Guacamole and chips were also good (freshly made guac) and the breaded fish was also tasty.
Service was good but the reason why I knocked off 1 star is It was a bit of a wait for the food, like 25 mins for the entree and the palce was not packed, we came around 2 p.m. and there were 3 tables occupied and it still took that long. I mean its not bad and the steak came in at the right temperature so I have to consider that. But aside from that it was a great experience.
Will definetly come back and try their...
