So we haven't been here in over 10 years. For good reason. Last time we went it was so disappointing. The place was laid out as a regular chain restaurant trying to pack as many people as possible in. The food seemed as if it were cooked a few days earlier, completely dry, devoid of any flavor, meat was tough, very dry. Service was below sub-par. We didnt really eat anything and sadly any complaints only got us coupons, so we left with a big chip on our shoulders. Fast forward 10+ years, this place is totally different. Laid out like a southern ribs joint and bar. 2 seating sections aside from the bar. right in front is table service. to the side, you place your order, pay for your order and you get called to get your food, no table service. kinda like a slow/fast food joint. We got the roast chicken and st louis ribs combos, a burger, fried pickles, mac and cheese (kraft not homemade), smoked wings. All wings are smoked before fried and sauced. very nice flavor. Chicken is fresh and juicy. Ribs too, excellent! Not exactly fall off the bones, but you can tell they are fresh. Nicole was our server. That woman was hustlin and bustlin! I'd definately try to get her again! She knows the food. She recommended the beans as a side, she was right. All meals come with fresh corn bread. Prices were definately agreeable. Thankfully we now have a local ribs place we were hoping for years ago!

Famous Dave's is so good! The whole decor of the restaurant really has the whole "country bbq" feel which is really cool. There typically can be a wait especially on Fridays and Saturdays. Despite there being wifi, I don't find that it works and almost always end up disconnecting and just using my cellular. The happy hour deal is really nice, $5 signature cocktails 3-6pm & 8pm-close. I got the Cranberry Vodka Cooler which is really good, but I got it without the mint. The BBQ chips that are brought to the table are nice and crunchy, but seem to get more and more spicy as you go down the bowl. I ordered the Georgia Chopped Pork which is really good, but it needs extra sauce. Rich and Sassy comes on it, so that it what I added. My mom got the Feast For One. It is so big and comes with such a variety of food. There is a roll of paper towels on the table and trust me, you will need it. The cornbread that came with both of our meals is so good. For my second drink, I got the Smokin' Island Iced Tea which is basically a Long Island Iced Tea, but the smoker wasn't working so it really was a Long Island Iced Tea. It was the first time I had had one so it was good, but the Vodka Cooler was better. For dessert, I always get the Banana Pudding. It is so good, but quite big so save room.

I've been to this place more than a few times... the waitstaff are friendly, know the menu & check on you at a regular pace. For a chain their price and quality was always a good way to go. The last 2 times however, the brisket was dry. They used to offer you two cuts of brisket - lean or regular or wet i think it's really called. But the last 2 times no. BBQ is all about the ribs & brisket. The ribs are pretty consistent no matter what flavor you get. The brisket was very dry & tough- it didn't even cut with the fork. I'm usually one who orders lean brisket, but this was beyond that - it needed to be cooked longer to break it down more. Ther must be rushing through to meet with demand but that's the way to lose customers instead of putting more on for longer, you put less on for shorter periods? I'm going to have to really consider if i'm going to return there when looking for bbq, and if i do and it's the same with the brisket, that will be the last time.

The Smithtown closing was sad for sure….fast forward a bunch of years ….. Today I saw that there was a Famous Dave’s in Westbury while I was out that way, I got excited and stopped in. SUPER FAIL!!! Disgusting trash! 3 “waitresses” walked around constantly sticking there LONG nails into there “hair “ scratching “ as if they all caught lice or something. The waitress that served me didn’t do that but was very short and seemingly did not want to be at work today .. I ordered the 3 meat platter. Brisket Rib tips Sausage Sides were Mac and cheese And garlic mashed

Food came out and the entire paper that sits atop of the tray had a glaze of brown oil and the whole order smelled burnt. The brisket looked like it was frozen, boiled then deep fried and after one small tear bite it was chewy & disgusting something totally gross and that bite discreetly went into a napkin. The rib tips were a charred gross mangle of tendons and burnt something that seriously smelled like burnt oil and foul meat. Mashed has a layer of a crust as if to have been under a hot lamp for hours And the Mac and cheese was dried and hard on top as well, seemingly sat under a hot lamp or heat source for a good while. The door to the kitchen was open and as I waited for the “waitress” to get off her phone I watched a person with gloves on separate meat with a knife on a stainless counter, proceed to slide wrappers and things into a garbage can on wheels that was caked with greese, then he leaned over and pressed the garbage down with gloves hands only to return to preparing more meat, this can was then used buy a wait staff to dump a dust pan so it was a general use garbage can and not for meat scraps…. I curtly and quietly explained to the friendly waitress that the food was incredibly disgusting and not edible. The brisket was grey and white and did not even resemble brisket, with a stink to it.. I left her $10 for the glass of water and her effort. I told her I was refusing the platter and was going to leave, she laughed and said whatever !

Never ever again.

I would highly suggest avoiding that Famous Dave’s in Westbury ( 1060 Corporate Drive, Westbury), I don’t know how they are...

Today’s rating is not for the food, because at least that is usually good. Instead, it is for the attitude of the manager Luis. I come here ALL the time for take out. Dined in often before COVID. Today, I came in to clarify my take out order because I ordered two days ago from this location, l got home and saw the order was incorrect even after coming in to clarify what I wanted with the staff. The young lady assured me before leaving it was correct but it was not. So today I came in as well to clarify again. Today’s order was smaller but I wanted to be sure it was accurate. So Luis, the manager heard me ask the lady packing for my requests and I mentioned that it was incorrect two days ago. He chimed in well it will be fine because we will let you look at it today. Once the order was ready he proceeds to tell me why the order two days ago must have been incorrect assuming I did something wrong without even asking for my receipt or clarifying the previous order. I told him the order was different so his explanation was incorrect. He was speaking on something he knew nothing about. Instead of just apologizing he yells in my face “Well we are human!” His attitude was condescending and curt. He is well over six feet tall and a large man. Of course for a female customer this was quite intimidating. Im not sure what happened to good customer service. The manager Luis made no attempts to even make it right he just assumed he knew what happened and said what he said. I left frustrated and upset I’d come from Suffolk to spend my money here. If nothing else I hope he’s reflective on how he as the manager could have handled that situation better. The interaction left a really bad taste in my mouth. I will continue to share my unfortunate experience I had...

Ugh... This place is circling the drain. They are severely understaffed. Front of the house appears to be 3 people. I'm sure the kitchen is just 1 or 2 cooks too. If you sit on the bar side , you get table service from the one bartender. If you sit on the table side, you have to give your order and pay to the sole maitre d who also will bring the food. Now the food. I am a pit master and I try to avoid BBQ restaurants because I'm a tough customer, but I was with 3 friends who chose the location...poorly. We got their big sampler and it was crap. The actual BBQ meats all had no smoke flavor. Everything felt like it had been held a loong time either at temp or reheated. The chicken was partially bad. The brisket was held well but only tasted of salt. The corn was originally cooked days ago. The beans were good and the coleslaw didn't offend. Edible, but not outstanding or even average. I did visit this restaurant many years ago when it first opened and it was a different vibe . There were knicknakes that gave character, but all are gone leaving the place sterile. I guess sold off for $$ and because there's no staff to clean? They still have restrooms, but this aren't very clean either with grubby floors and over full trash cans. This is the restaurant equivalent of a grocery store that can't afford enough stock to fill the shelves, so fronts all the shelves in hope the customer won't notice. We noticed. My guess is there will be a new concept in this place before long. BBQ is best from local owned shacks, not sterile chains anyway. It requires soul to be good and this place is completely...
